We won’t need to nickname her Spooky.
Trainer Mike Trader, shooting off Zip’s back. (Please know that real bullets are not involved in this type of exercise. It’s intended as a test/demonstration of a horse’s training under saddle.)
That is a horse you can trust with your baby.

Amazing what a good trainer can do. Wow! And I’m so glad you won’t have to worry about Morgan with Zip. Now to get Patriot to do the same! ๐

Hopefully Zip’s regained training, the attention she will get from Morgan and others, and Patriot’s affection for her will encourage Patriot to relearn the ropes as well. Great job. It’s so cool to see a rescue horse brought back from oblivion.

From the time you got Patriot and you mentioned he was bothering the cows a bit, I have had a hunch you will find he has had cutting horse training.
I have enjoyed watching the training of Zip, you and Morgan. ๐
Now, let us see what Patriot is made of. ๐

Good horse! Now will he also test her with car horns and crazy shouting people in cars? And tractors?

Outstanding! Sooo worth the time and money for that great result. Hopefully, Patriot will respond equally well to the same training.

Now for the sneeze test, and the “terrifying flying plastic bag” check ;). Amazing though, not so much as a blink.

Country Blossom says:
Hehehe You have an amazing trainer. Our horses are fine with firecrackers and gunshots … then one day a random plastic bag blew thru the field. I tied plastic bags all over the fence to desensitize them to that, LOL.

I think you need to take Zip out and hunt down that damn mountain lion. Teach it to NOT mess with your animals.

That is one gorgeous horse! I’d still like to know if that’s the same Mike Trader that graduated from Nitro High School in ’79, I’m almost convinced that it is.

I’m so sorry about Minnie Belle and the ram. With Zip and a gun, should we expect to see a mountain lion tail hanging from your deck soon?

Zip is a beautiful horse and Mike Trader is a miracle worker–getting Zip to load/unload in a trailer and now to shoot from her back.
I just have a feeling that Patriot has met his match with Mike and is going to be surprised that Mike is the BOSS and not Patriot.

I agree with princessvanessa! I can’t wait to hear about Patriot’s time with Mike.
