Slightly Creepy

I went out to the garden to inspect and was shocked to discover this.

My very own freakish scarecrow, now deceased, and yet….still here! As if lying in state.

Why isn’t he gone yet? What cruel trick is this that I come upon him thus? What next, shall we float him down the river like the lily maid of Astolat?

Wow, he certainly has decomposed. Say a small service, have a wake, and bury him before he thaws out and gets ripe. 🙂 Suzanne

  2. Tina says:

Yikes! Has he returned from the netherworld to haunt you? What could it mean, what does he WANT?! I urge you to scatter his remains to the four corners of the earth (or your property) so he may trouble you No More! :jackolantern:

  3. Michele says:

I think you should manifest a new one.

  4. Robin says:

Definitely float him down the river.

    Or compost him.

Whichever makes the best blog post.

  5. morningstar says:

That looks so scary when I saw the first picture I wondered what ever had you come across and feared the worst. What a blessed relief !!!! phew!!!!

  6. Bev in CA says:

Oh Suzanne, you caused a twinge when I saw your comment. He does look sad. His inner self is a thing of the past. His job is done. Time to bring forth a new presence to oversee the promise of this year’s garden.

  7. Lindsay says:

Poor Elaine the lily maid….I bet she was a fair bit prettier than that scarecrow (although before he decomposed he was awfully handsome).

What an unexpected reminder of my favorite stories! Thanks Suzanne! I’m off to find my Arthurian legends :fairy:

  8. Rechelle says:

  9. Whaledancer says:

  10. Yvonne says:
