I have a question and please believe me this is not a criticism. I’m used to being around cattle raised for their beef. To me, momma cow looks bony. Is this typical for such a bred of milk cow?
Melissa, dairy cows, particularly Jerseys, have a bony look to their backside. They are built to support super large and heavy udders, which beef cattle are not.

Her bones would freak me out, too. The FFA Jerseys at the state fair last year were just as bony, though.
