I posted about this yesterday, but I’m going to post about it again to show off the actual paper. And you’re lucky if I don’t post about it every day for a month because WHY NOT! I was in the New York Times Book Review! Okay, okay, really I won’t do that. But there it is, in the paper. I had to go to Charleston to find one. It cost $6.39, wow. That is some expensive newspaper.
You can read the review online here.

So exciting! Yes, the NY Times is expensive. I’ve been tempted to subscribe electronically but just stick to reading my 10 free articles per month. The review was my 10th.

Suzanne,
I want to tell you how much I enjoyed your book! I picked it up from the library on Sat and finished it in less than 24 hours. It was a joy to read. I too would love to have chickens in the road, but unfortunately they are not allowed where i live presently. Hoping in the future it will be possible. It was great to hear your story in more detail. I have been reading your blog for a couple years now. I hope you write a follow up book. I’d love to know what comes next.
Thanks
Lynn

Love it! And yes, the Sunday NYT is expensive.
My husband heads out on Sunday mornings and picks up the NYT and Starbucks for us. Cheaper than a restaurant as I fetch our fresh eggs and make our breakfast.

Since you splurged on the newspaper, I hope you took Maia out to lunch while you were in the city. 😉

Way to go Suzanna, Reviewed in the New York Times. I bet you are so excited it’s hard to get to sleep.
When I read your book it was hard to put down, and like a good movie you don’t want it to end. Thank you so much for making us part of your life and your book. Maybe next you will write a book of your childhood leading up to Stringtown Rising or a cookbook. I love your recipes and would like to have them all in one place. Congratulations you have earned it.

Hi Suzanne,
I agree with “steakandeggs” that you deserve recognition. Love reading your blog and happy for you. Got your book as a birthday gift and love it. I, too, would love anything new from you and a recipe book would be lovely.
On a sad note….just read about your loss and I am so sorry for Ross and Selena…..and for you too. It’s a hard thing and I’m sending warm hugs and prayers.
