These Two

These two….are still at it.

Cats are so hard to move. We took all of the cats to the studio for their “induction” period to decompress from moving with chickens and dogs in the back of my Explorer, then I took the “outdoor” cats to the hayloft in the barn where they can sleep in the hay. I’m feeding them up there, and they seem to be adjusting to barn life. Hopefully, they’ll keep busy finding out if we have any mice. The “house” cats (indoor/outdoor) are gradually learning to go in and out here and figuring things out.

My internet is fixed! I apologize for being behind on my house/farm tour. I spent all day yesterday painting my bedroom (and I love it). I’ll get back to the tour asap. I only moved into this house less than a week and a half ago, and I’m a little overwhelmed! Thank you SO much for your support. I really appreciate it.

Relax, take your time- we arn’t going anywhere… don’t you see us all with our noses pressed up against your window?

  2. Flowerpower says:

I think you are doing extremely well!! Try not to let it overwhelm you. Animals are funny about changing routines and places…but I bet they will love their new home.

Is Spice frustrated because he/she can’t open the door? I’m hanging on here trying to wait patiently to learn the color of the bedroom.

:snoopy: I love that pic! I just want to leap into the pic and hug the 2 of them!

Settling in and nesting are important and will be here as you get along with the process! I am excited to see more of your new home and farm!

  5. norahse says:

It looks like this is a much better option for you. Not so remote and looks like beautiful grounds. What you gave up in “new”, you have in character.

We will wait for you as long as it takes :reindeer: I’m loving the photos. Thanks for keeping us posted.Every day living will soon get your place in shape. love and prayers coming your way. :moo:

About the color you are painting your bedromm, I dont know if you have posted tht color you selected or not, but I remember the shade sassafras tea makes when you add a bit of cream. It turns a lovely shade of lavendar.

So sorry about the mis-spelled words, my fingers are bandaged and it makes typing very difficult–need to recheck before I post

  10. Glenda says:

I can’t believe you got all this accomplished in such a short time. You need to relax a bit and take a deep breath … any maybe drink a little wine!

I will be looking forward to the tour. I love everything I have seen so far.

  11. Andrea.tat says:

Take your time, you deserve it :sheep:

Those two are so in love. My cat just taunts my boyfriend’s parent’s dog while it is in a crate. It would not end like this if they met without bars between them.

Looking forward to more posts whenever you get relaxed and settled down! :cowsleep: <- like this cow. I love emoticons. I didn't sleep much last night so I want to put them… everywhere. :snoopy:

  12. shirley T says:

I know you are not the vengeful type, but I would like to see you get a big sign with a picture of the farm, you standing along side, with the words SUZANNE’S NEW FARM. Then mount the sign on top of your car. then get a bull horn, ride up and down the road in front of the home of the lady??? (who put you down so badly when you lost one of your babie animals) Shout through the bull horn “HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW” ~~~ gotta love it ~~~

  13. shirley T says:

Do this right after you drink a little wine that Glenda suggested. If she lives close by, she may even help you. I would but I’m old and crippled.

  14. holstein woman says:

Suzanne, take time to love yourself as much as you do your home  :airkiss: . We DON’T want you down and can’t get up :hissyfit: ?
I’ve had my nose against the window of your house for over a year and will keep it there. The point is gone.. I wait for more of your new home (impatiently) :dancingmonster:

  15. Flowerpower says:

Suzanne that should give you some sleepless nights..thinking about all of us with our noses pressed against your windows!! Better buy lots of windex! :snoopy:

  16. mamawolf says:

It is amazing what you can accomplish in a short time. Like the rest my nose is against the window waiting in anticipation. Take your time and relaz. You owe it to yourself to recuperate from the past month. We aren’t going away. :fairy:

  17. Sandra says:

Please move over, Gang, I can’t see. The window is only so big. 😉

  18. NancyL says:

I wondered who all thos other women were standing outside, looking in with me! You just go on doing what you need to do and post pictures when you have time. We’ll be here, all very happy for you!!

  19. twiggityNDgoats says:

Gosh you’re doing so much at once so cut yourself some slack. We’re all patient folks. I’d still be trying to figure out where I was.

  20. bonita says:

Hey, CITR’s, if the windows get too crowded, some of us can camp out on the hills across from the house with binoculars. (creepy, eh?) Oh and Suzanne doesn’t need Windex—somewhere in this blog is a home-made window cleaner!!! You know, she makes everything herself!

  21. LisaAJB says:

I’m jealous of how quickly you got your bedroom painted. I’ve been in my hot since Sept and we’re still painting. Good luck.

  22. Vicki in So. CA says:

I’ve been following your news from word one, but this is my first time commenting on everything, having been busy with family over the Thanksgiving holiday. I was sorry to read of your split with 52, and I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for you to leave your beloved heritage land, but I’ve been smiling ever since.

Your new farm looks SO much better for you. Easier land, more sun and less mud, a real barn… It looks like your animals will be happier here, and you can care for them without the hardships you had at Stringtown. A hundred acres of your own, a soon-to-be-realized horse for Morgan, free gas, a real light that lights up on its own… What we’ve seen of the house so far is adorable. The old kitchen space has great potential. Meanwhile, I’m sure the current kitchen is just fine.

Your future may look different now than it did a year ago, but with a new independence, a more suitable farm, and book deals in the works, it looks to me that you couldn’t have been more correct about landing on your feet. WELL DONE!

I’ll be following along with everyone else as you continue to take us on the tour. Thank you so much for what you share with us.

  23. Rose H says:

Don’t you worry about us Suzanne, just take it as easy as you can, and try not to let it overwhelm you. We’ll still ALL be here. I’m amazed as it is you’ve had time to post anything at all!

  24. Estella says:

Settling in and getting things as you like them takes time.

  25. Pat says:

A great big ditto to what CATRAY44 said!!! By the way, Suzanne, Sassafras Farm looks like YOU. THIS house looks like you, way more than the one at Stringtown Rising (though it was a great house). THIS house and farm look like HOME to me. I can “feel” it even from eastern NC. Take your time settling in to your wonderful life.

  26. Ms.Becky says:

oh thanks for the photo of two of my favorite critter. and take your time, catch your breath, and settle in. as one commenter put it so aptly – we’re all here, with our noses to your window and I doubt very much ANY of us is going anywhere! happy day to you Suzanne.
