Boomer and Coco, fighting for control of something….disgusting….in the goat yard. Ever since hunting season, the dogs have had….disgusting toys…..bits and pieces…..left behind by hunters. Boomer is the front man. He goes into the woods, drags back something DISGUSTING, brings it to the Giant Puppy in the goat yard, and they go at it.
Sometimes Boomer takes it out of the goat yard and leaves it somewhere pleasant, like in front of the goat’s feed box. You know, some place where I have to walk.

Gee. I wonder who won that tug of war?

You should be so proud of Boomer. He is just like his “Mom”. He makes his own toys out of found objects. Isn’t that kinda what you do? Good boy, Boomer. 😉

Oh this is one ‘life in the country’ thing I almost managed to forget about LOL! It was especially bad if we had snow on the ground for weeks. The rain would finally come, the snow would leave, and the yard would look like some scary graveyard that had been under forensic study ….. :mummy:

They remind me of Daisy, our sweet farm dog, who used to bring smelly woodchuck carcasses and leave them on the lawn outside the back door. Charming! She came back from hunting/exploring a few times with porcupine quills stuck in her shout. That makes for a very unhappy dog. There’s no easy way to remove them.
:pawprint: Daisy is no longer with us, but her memory lingers on :happypuppy: 🙂

LOL Dede!!! I have a feeling that’s what our yard will look like after the snow melts here. Our big Akbash pup Shep hauls everything up onto the back porch or all over the yard…so far nothing bigger than dead mice and frogs though. Yuck. :hungry2: (pitchfork!)

I feel your pain; my husband is one of those said hunters. My dog, as well as our neighbor’s dog, has found all kinds of interesting things from off of our property. The funniest one is my neighbor freaking out because her dog brought home a “human backbone”, and she was ready to call CSI. It was in fact a wild hog spine from my husband!!

A coworker has a large carnivorous dog that loves to scavenge. Once he found the carcass of an old horse that someone in the neighborhood had buried. He brought home a leg bone to share!

Oh, dear! That is something I had never thought of related to country living. Yuck! Guess it wouldn’t do to bury them, the dogs would just dig them up again. The stench must be awful after the thaw plus a few warm days. Ewwwe, think of the doggies’ breath!

That cheesecake looks so yummy…I can’t believe you don’t weigh 500 pounds with that kind of stuff around. But you are so lovely. BTW, love your new picture.
Have a great weekend. Don’t worry, dogs will be dogs just don’t let them in the house…..gross….

My dog does the same thing. I have seen him chewing on so many unrecognizable things. I usually just tell him he’s a nasty dog. My friend just tells me he’s a real dog he lives in the country what do you expect. It’s so gross the things they find.

This is a gross subject. When I lived in NJ, I lived on a tiny lake with woods surrounding it. One day my little black lab Scoute went exploring and came back with a whole deer leg. Even the hoof was still attached. Yuck. She settled down to eat it.I tried to take it away from her, but had the hardest time, but finally succeeded. That night she was throwing up on my white carpet. BAD DOG!

Maybe the snowstorm will bury the little dead ‘furry critters’ the dogs drug home…..and the odor will freeze and dry up by spring….Hope you got foil….!!
This year is a true challenge of your ‘food squirreling’ ability! LOL
We’re drowning in snow…Is that possible?….. Tn…
