When you live by yourself (or at least nobody else is home), you can eat two candy bars for dinner and call it a day. That is awesome.
Yesterday, I painted most of the day. I’ve only lived in this house for seven months, so be gentle with me if you’re visiting. Over 100 people will be here on Saturday. I’ve almost finished painting and am on cleaning and party shopping duty now. I’ve got handymen helping inside and outside with random jobs, and a passel of teenagers working on the yard.
Meanwhile, I had two candy bars for dinner. Because I’m too tired to cook anything.
The teenagers will also be here on Saturday to direct parking. They will be the kids on 4-wheelers waving you like Vanna White to your spot. If you’re coming, be sure to tell them the grounds look nice–they’ll appreciate hearing it. I think Dave will be at the party, too–tell him how great the studio looks!
Casper is doing nothing to help.

You mean you got Teen’s to help with yard work!!! How did you do that???? Amazing you are one amazing woman I tell you. I have one teen and it hard to get her to help with yard work period. Unless it involves driving the big tractor then she is all for it. hmmm.
Have a grand time at your party. I can not wait to hear all about it. Wish I could come too sounds like a lovely time.

The teens worked in the yard because it is not their yard. They always work harder for someone else! Makes a parent proud!

Sorry we can’t be there for the party, but I still want to exercise my “old fuddy duddy” license.
I hope that young lady with the lawn mower wasn’t mowing in just flip-flops or something insubstantial on her feet. I am one person who, as a youngster, actually survived slipping under a running rotary mower which then proceeded to shear off just the top of my shoe before it flipped over on its way down. That’s why modern mowers have those annoying flaps on the back which make it difficult to pull the mower backwards, but also difficult to have a foot slip underneath. I’m not suggesting steel-toed boots (like we had to wear on grass duty in the military) but please something sturdy enough to provide some traction and maybe a quick get away as I was fortunate enough to have way back when.
End today’s fuddy duddy rant. (I’m full of them, as you’ve seen.)
Everybody have a grand time!

oh yes, of course I am paying the teenagers!!!
(And no, she is wearing shoes, not flip flops. They all wear shoes/boots, and when they weedeat, they wear safety glasses.)

Hmmmmm…Casper told me that yard work was not in his job description. He said he is supposed to bark at strangers…eat….sleep….be loved on….and not much more. Is he telling the truth???

STH says:
JerseyMom, yard work would fall under “other duties as assigned.”
(That “other duties as assigned” in my job description has gotten me into making toast for my supervisor’s parrot, among other things.)

I’m sure it will all look great. And you deserve candy bars! Don’t you wish you could wiggle your nose and turn Casper into a man?! I do all the time. Especially when they sit around while we’re running around with way too much to do. Have a great weekend! Wish I could come.
