52 brought me this hardware store bag. I peeked inside, expecting something boring, and found–

–more lye to make more soap! The perfect surprise present! I was very excited!

Receiving a bag of Lye would scare me, but having seen your soaps, I can understand why this was a welcome gift. I sure do miss True Value!

    I think 52 is a keeper!

True Value is where I get my lye.

Making soap scares me, just a little, but you have really peaked my interest!

    How romantic!

Roses are red, violets are blue,
Here are two tubs of lye, because I love you!

 I just LOVE 52…WHAT A MAN! Suzanne you sure struck it right.

52 sounds like a practical kind of man. I bet you appreciate practical gifts that are useful rather than flowers or such. He is definitely a keeper!

  7. KentuckyFarmGirl says:

I looked at a few different stores last night for lye and couldn’t find it, now I know where to go! Thank you!!!

That ol’ Romeo! My favorite gift from my husband was a Valentine’s Day present a few years ago: tracks for the skid loader – heavenly!

  9. Carmen Smith says:

He sounds like a *keeper*, I’m the same way, it’s the simple…REALLY simple things that make me happy!!! Happy soapmaking, I’m whipping up a batch myself today ;D

What a special man! Sounds just like something my hubby would do. He bought me a putty knife one Valentines Day. I am a house painter and was complaining about the shape of our putty knifes so I got my very own. :sun:

Love It! I received tire chains one year for Dec. wedding anniversary and was happy, happy.

  14. SuzieQ says:

One year my husband gave me a fullsize bandsaw for my workshop..just tickled me pink! Flowers are nice, on occasion, but give me something for one of my passions..crafting, woodworking, etc. :snoopy: :snoopy:

Obviously 52 listens to you and knew that you would be as happy as a clam at high tide with soap-making lye. Makes me smile to think of him stopping off at True Value to pick up some lye for “his honey”.

  16. Ulrike says:

My husband just happened to look over my shoulder as I scrolled down and said, “You can use it to dispose of bodies, too.”

In case your “staff” gets out of hand, maybe?

  17. Tammy says:

Does he have brothers? Just askin.

  18. SuzzyQ says:

52 is a keeper. Any man who can go to a hardware store and bring you something you TRULY want is a genius in my book. Wayyyyyyy cool, 52!
