Why It’s Good to be Mr. Pibb

One, there’s Sprite. Two, there’s Fanta. Three, there’s Nutmeg.

Mr. Pibb: “Line up, girls.”

I didn’t intend to breed Nutmeg (a Nigerian Dwarf) with Mr. Pibb (a Fainting goat), but every attempt to breed Nutmeg to Rhett or Eclipse failed. I was starting to think she was a nun because she’d have nothing to do with them. Then Mr. Pibb got a little excited lately and he’s turned into a ladies man. I want to get Sprite and Fanta bred while we’ve got Clover separated, and well, Nutmeg is a nun. Only turns out Nutmeg’s not a nun.

Fainting Nigerians, anyone?

I’ve actually been to Nigeria and you really need to tell Nutmeg to be glad she lives in WV, and not just because Mr Pibb is there. the goats I saw in Nigeria were usually being delivered as that nights entree.

What happens if you make a loud noise when all this is going on? Now, that would be a picture!

LOL It’s pretty clear to my eyes… a couple of ready and waiting females there! Mr Pibb was likely in his glory right about then! Sometimes, no matter how much one tries to avoid such ‘joinings’… nature takes her course!

There will be a lot of that going on around here next month. We will be breeding our 4 does. I like to wait a little later in the year so our temps are warmer in the Spring. I’m always afraid I’ll loose them to the cold if they are born before March/April.

I had a 90-year-old woman (who still shows goats and who I borrow our buck from to breed our does) tell me to only breed in the months with R’s and that I wouldn’t have to worry about the weather in Kentucky.

My, my, my! How very risque! I guess we’ll find out how a fainting nigerian goat behaves!! :shimmy:

oops – did I just name the kids? lol [my vote is for Schwepps btw]
