I’m getting my holiday baking in early–this week, gingerbread cookies, sugar cookies, and pecan pies. My house smells like Christmas. What about you? Anything yummy coming out of your oven? What’s your favorite goody for the holidays, either to cook or to eat?
I’ve got some holiday-themed books to give away in keeping with the season–this weekend: December 2007 Silhouette Nocture, Holiday with a Vampire, by Maureen Child and Caridad Pineiro. Drawing Monday! Let me know if you want it!
Update: Winner–#17, Estella!

Oh, Suz, send some of those cookies my way! I’m very sick and hubby’s not here so there’s no baking going on in this house. My favorite Christmas cookie is the Peanut Blossom. Peanut cookies with a Hershey kiss on top. But I love gingerbread and pecan pies too! I want the book…I want the book…

Nothing is coming out of my oven, but I’ll eat just about anything someone else makes — that’s the problem! 😆
I have the book already, so don’t enter me in the draw.
Wishing everyone a great weekend…

I have to admit I haven’t baked in the last few years. But happy to say my oldest daughter is going to give it a try. Unfortunately she lives 5 hours away so I’m not going to be smelling those wonderful smells. But I still do a lot of decorating and I just had a tree trimming party so the place looks loverly.

We are doing a cookie swap at my bosses house this Saturday. Tonight I am baking Peanut Butter Blossom cookies. I hope they make it to the swap, Spawn 1 and Spawn 2 scarf those down as soon as they cool off enough to eat!
But next week I will be making chocolate chip shortbread, holiday peppermint bark, coconut indulgences (taste like almond joys, minus the almond!), fudge and chocolate biscotti.

Your cookies look wonderfully scrumptious. I wish the cooking fairies would come to my house and bake up a batch of them. Of course, not that I NEED it. I went out and bought a gingerbread house kit that I’m going to have my boys try put together – we’ll see how that goes. I can see it now – icing all over the floor and sticky fingers everywhere. But isn’t that what Christmas is all about?
Could you please enter me in the drawing? I too, would love to snuggle up to a yummy vamp this Christmas.

I want to curl up on the couch with a Vampire! Oh, and I want to taste those cookies, too. I am not a baker or a cook. I usually buy from bake sales if I want the real thing. lol My favorite is rice pudding with raspberry sauce that my mother-in-law makes.
