Get out there and get some green! Not putting the gorgeous wildflowers down for a minute, but in between vasefuls of their showy splendor, give the green some love.
Look, the chickens will even go with you.
They might not be real helpful, though. But they’ll keep you company.
Go out in your back yard or into the woods, stop on the side of the road, it’s everywhere. Cut leaf-filled branches, long ones, short ones. Look for different sizes and shapes of leaves. Different textures. Don’t forget the grasses! I love this tall, tall grass near our pond.
Shorter grasses are good, too!
It may look like a clump of weeds now–
–but there are probably florists in New York City who charge high-end hotels $100 to put a single clump in a vase just like this.
You can fill your house up with green and it won’t cost a thing.
Give ’em water, and the grasses and leafy branches will last several days or a week, depending on the variety.
And when they’re fading and limp? You can just go get some more. Spring is very generous!
