Maia’s Upcoming Appearances

Maia makes appearances! She does! She has a schedule!

Most days, her schedule is pretty light. Hangin’ on the farm, browsing for any new blade of grass that might make a mistake and sprout up on a warm day when it’s going to snow the next. Knocking on the back door. Eating the broom. Coming inside for a look-see in case there’s any cat food out or just to visit, climb on top of the dining room table or something.

But!

She does go out. Behold the evidence:

Goat Has Tutu, Will Travel.

Maia will be appearing, in full tutu, at the Clendenin Public Library on May 3, 2014 at 1 p.m. I’ll be giving a presentation about farm animals and Maia will be presenting herself.

She will also be appearing at the public library in Elkview on May 13, 2014 at 6 p.m. for a similar event.

I’ll be presenting a book talk to the book club group from the main branch of the Charleston public library on May 28 at 11:30 a.m., though Maia will not be in attendance at that event and it will be at the Town Center Mall, not at the library.

If you’re in the area, I hope to see you, so mark those dates down! The events including Maia will be appropriate for children to attend. I’m hoping to schedule more events with Maia, and she is very excited about it. I was contacted recently by a school district, for example. If you are part of an organization or community club and would like to have Maia along with a presentation, let me know! (FYI, I do charge.) You can contact me at [email protected].

Maia has become qite a celeb and as such she should be treated as one, she needs her own star with her name on it. This summer make a stepping stone with her name and hoof prints, the star can be made with a cookie cutter. I did that when be had our patio poured, I put the date, each of our dogs names and a heart made with a cookie cutter beside each name.

Maia is so cute. Love that tutu and that she is making more appearances. She is the perfect ambassador for all things related to Chickens in the Road and Sassafras Farm.

I have a secret crush on goats anyway, but one with a tutu? Even more so! LOL What a little Diva she is. 🙂
