He definitely has a “Dirty Harry” look about him. That’s what I’m going with, Dirty Harry. You know, “I know what you’re thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?” That’s this chicken ALL over.

The name that immediately came to my mind was… Arsenic (as in the poison that people use to do great harm). It sounds lovely but… it is dangerous.

My kids can’t figure out why I love rooster pictures and such in my kitchen. They have heard my stories of being chased by the family rooster as a preschooler. Those men of the hen house are no gentlemen!

  29. Donna Mc says:

    Boris …the Bad Banty

(Thinking of the evil russian character in the Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoon – Boris Badinoff. *G*)

  30. kacey says:

Sue. Like in a boy named Sue. Only this is a rooster named Sue. He looks tough enough to defend himself. Hopefully the other reindeer won’t laugh and call him names…I mean the other chickens…

  31. Tresha says:

0012…(as in dozen) is really a secret agent for Chicken Hawks..disguised as a chicken…0012 does not sleep with the others for that is when messages are sent to headquarters by laying pieces of straw out in code words…like…”The fox is in the hen house!” and oh..the sparley purse gift….0012 said that was “kid stuff” for the gadgets prepared by RC (Rooster Cogburn) are much more impressive and technilogically advanced!

This chick kind of reminds me of Stewie from the show “Family Guy,” as well.
You could go with something like Lillard or Wendell or Sherlock. That would make me cranky if I had one of those names. (Sorry to anybody named Wendell or Sherlock. If you’re a Lillard, you really should consider a name change, son.)

  35. Pamela M. in Louisiana says:

    Doo-fus.
It may be naughty looking now, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a very pretty and much loved chicken when it grows up!

  36. ginger says:

the chicks name should be “pepper” you know like salt and pepper..the rest of the comment i will leave to myself! don’t want to put fear into little kids heads! but if you’re an adult you’ll get what i mean!! the chick is just a cute little thing though!!

  44. Kathryn says:

I think you need to explain to your editor that you don’t have time for that revision letter mess. Chickens, goats, gardens, family, porch-pie, and your bothersome askaskasking blog-readers are taking up your time.

I think the little feller is cute. He is smaller than the others, so we are going to have a Napoleon complex going on, and that has to be taken into consideration. That makes me think of Billy Joel, which makes me think of one of his songs, which makes me think that feller should be named “Billy the Kid”. If you look at a picture of Henry McCarty (real name), that feller does bear a certain resemblance. Thank you, Princess, for reading all my blathering and for helping your mama.

  45. Becky says:

    I’m thinking Inigo Montoya. :chicken:

  46. MARY says:

I think that chicken is the prettiest one, but I choose Dumbledorf! Pick me, Princess!!!!

  47. Melissa's Cozy Teacup says:

I still think he looks like he is wearing a wrestling mask what with his head being a different color than his body and all the markings around his eyes. Even though the name I’m going with didn’t belong to a wrestler, he was still a fighter-Achilles.

  48. Rena Bordea says:

I think the perfect name would be Merlin.. he looks a little tricky, and secretive, like he knows something we humans don’t know. Thanks for letting us look inside your world!

  49. Cyndi Lewis says:

My first thought was Squawk. I’m going with it.

  50. becki says:

    You have a Buttercup.

    Never say “Mo’ chicken, please.”

  51. Kim says:

I’m thinking Bandito…looks like an outlaw ready to turn and shoot or bite. lol

  52. Fannie M Wiggins says:

He looks like a “Hawk” to me. or maybe “Gerinimo”(sp?) you know the Indian chief badboy. Or we could go with Rambo :rambo: There sure are a lot of good names floating around here today. Have a great day and  to all.

  53. Angie says:

When I look at him he reminds me of Grumpy as in the dwarf from Snow White. So my pick is Grumpy.

    “She/He”

  71. Susan says:

My first thought when I saw that last picture with his chest all puffed out and that look in his eyes was his name should be Napolean. As a banty, he’ll be half the size of the other chickens but if he’s anything like the banties we’ve had, he’ll rule the roost and if you’re not careful be plotting to take over the rest of the barnyard too.

  72. Lady Jane says:

He was woken from a perfectly good nap.

    CRANKY CHUCK

  73. Amie Stuart says:

“You lookin’ at me…are you lookin at me?”

I can’t resist. That is one bad-ass looking chicken! And as such he needs a fitting name but someone already threw Darth out there soooooo

Mario–after Mario Puzo writer of The Godfather
    Or Al for Al Pacino

That is the most gangster lookin’ chicken I ever saw!

  74. Doris says:

I will try Adolph, as in Adolph Hitler. He looks like he might have “short man syndrome”. He might just become a real tyrant when grown.

    “Harrow”

That is the name I am throwing in the hat.

  76. Susan K from Ohio says:

Ok, I totally see Scott Baio all grown up here. So do I go with Chachi? No. Too cutesy for this chicken. Charles, as in “Charles In Charge”? Weeelll, he could alternately be called Charlie when he’s sweet and Chuckie when he’s a little sour. Or just Charles. Yes, that’s it.

My vote is Charles (and all the nicknames that come with!).
