Party time is nearly here! This is the fourth annual event at Stringtown Rising Farm, and this year it takes place following the CITR Retreat 2011 and will be bigger and better than ever! (You do not have to be a retreat attendee to attend the Party on the Farm. If you ARE a retreat attendee, you must ALSO register for the party separately. If you haven’t registered, please do so now.)

Date: Sunday, September 4, 2011

REGISTRATION CUT-OFF FOR THE PARTY ON THE FARM:
Midnight, Wednesday, August 31.

All ages are welcome and children are encouraged! There will be food, more food, and fun, along with old-fashioned and crafty country skills demonstrations and activities plus door prizes. There will also be a swap, if you want to participate. To participate in the swap, bring your “extra” homemade crafted or canned goodies to exchange with your CITR friends at the party! (Participating in the swap is OPTIONAL, of course. If interested, bring your goodies and check in at the swap table when you arrive.)

Demonstrations and activities include:

Swap – check-in starts at 1 p.m., sign in and pick up additional info at the swap table, front porch

Egg Collecting – 1 p.m. and ongoing – you are free to take home ALL THE EGGS YOU CAN FIND! (Stay outta my fridge!) We have egg cartons you may use for collecting. The hens are good hiders. Good luck.

When will you have time to eat? Food will be served continuously throughout the party. Choose a time when there is a demo/activity you don’t want to participate in, or carry your plate with you!

Watch Nutmeg’s babies bouncing in the yard and be awed by the giant lamb-pup, Minnie Belle! Feed cookies to Clover! Scratch Glory Bee’s head! (She loves that.) Milk Beulah Petunia! Check out Kelly Walker’s art on the walls downstairs! Make friends, have fun, eat good!

Remember, you MUST be registered to attend and receive final party information emails and directions. Registration ends Wednesday, August 31 at midnight. Sign up here.

See you at the farm!

From the day I registered I’ve been so excited to be able to come to the retreat. Now that Hurrican Irene has left us without power since last Saturday and for possibly a week or more, I am even MORE excited to be leaving Thursday night to find a hotel were I can enjoy running water, A/C, and electric! I may get there looking a little frazzled, but I will be SO happy to be there!

This sounds like so much fun Suzanne. If all goes well over the next year and hubby agree’s (and he usually goes along with what ever I suggest 😉 we’ll be at next years event. I’ve never seen much of the States past Lake Of The Ozarks Missouri so this would be a great adventure! I bet you’re all having a ball today in your neck of the woods. I’ll be watching for photos! :hungry2:
