Everyone down in the goat yard loved Christmas….
….a lot!
But the pup who lived just around the farm in the little white house did not.
Don’t ask why. No one knows. It could be her tail wasn’t screwed on quite right. Or her tutus were too tight.
Or perhaps her little pup heart was two sizes too small. But whatever the reason, her heart or her tutu, she stared down from her house to the goat yard below, and whispered, “They’re getting ready for the Annual Christmas Tableau! Why do they always get to wear the costumes?” And then she got a wonderful awful idea!
She’d just steal their Christmas–by stealing their costumes!
Whether they fit her.
Or not.
She took the hat and the angel wings and the halo.
And she took things that weren’t even Christmas-y. Just in case. She took the lion costume.
The ladybug.
And the bumblebee.
She took the garland and the Christmas tree balls. She took it ALL. She stole everything. Plus a cookie.
Then she packed up the goats’ Christmas and stashed it all in her dog bed.
“Now the goats will cry BOO HOO!” Then she heard a noise. And it started to grow. It was….MUNCHING.

Welcome Christmas,
Christmas Day!
She hadn’t stolen the goats’ Christmas, after all! They didn’t CARE if they didn’t have costumes! All they needed were the rest of the cookies! And then they told her she could keep ALL of their costumes—as her gifts from them.
The pup’s heart, that was two sizes too small, grew three times that day—
—-waitaminute, SHE’S A TINY DOG. HER HEART WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THAT SMALL, ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL HER?!
“Who, me?”
Merry Christmas from Sassafras Farm! Thank you for being here!
