How funny is that horse? I love this horse. He lives on a neighbor’s farm. I want to steal him, but I think they do bad things to horse thieves, so I’ll settle for his picture.

I say, “Moose” (or “Bullwinkle”), because he really does look like Bullwinkle.

  2. TeresaH says:

I say Gomer, cuz he reminds me of what a gomer should look like.

  3. jan says:

How about Goober or Boogger….I think I see a small one in there!

  4. Kim A. says:

What, you didn’t give him a carrot or an apple?

I can’t think of a good name, and I have “Secrets Rising” anyway. πŸ™‚

BTW, I really like the photo of the day; good shot, IMO.

    -Kim, in even snowier Kingston.

    P.S. Must. Buy. Snowshoes.

P.P.S. Must. Stock. Up. On. Wine.

  5. Crystal says:

Country Cadillac. ‘Cuz you know that every respectable horse has to have at least 2 names like “Genuine Risk” or “Lady’s Secret” (daughter of Secretariat)

  6. Heidi says:

No-zee…. or Jed. :snoopy: I love horses for many reasons!!! You should steal him cuz he would get you through that water you were in the other day!!

  7. jan says:

Our 6 year old has a name for the horse…”Sloppy Joe” Why you might want to know…”Mom, because he is the same color as a sloppy Joe and you know how I love my sloppy Joes!’

  8. MARY says:

 I say “Romeo”. What better name for a romance writer’s horse????? No insult to the relatives!! LOL! :purr:

  9. Renee says:

He looks like a “Rufus” to me!

  10. Marcia says:

How about “Bud” as in “This Bud’s for you” The white blaze on his face looks like a bottle opener.

  11. Melissa says:

    Mr. Read
Instead of Mr. Ed and also as in I read that book(not the ones you are offering) and his coat is red.

  12. kacey says:

doggone it! Someone already said Moose. Which is what he looks like!

  13. Laura says:

    How about Cinnamon Oats.

  14. jaq says:

Henry Horatio Higginbottom, Horse, ESQ. *g*

    Trey, for short. :rotfl:

  15. becki says:

    How about Cornbread?

  16. Norma says:

The marking on his face reminds me of a lightning bolt so I think he should be called “Stormy”. I always enjoy your posts.

  17. Robin G. says:

    The Indefatigable Mister Snorflesons, Esquire.

Snorf for short. Because that move right there? That’s totally a snorf.

  18. Robin G. says:

Ah! Jaq beat me to Esq! This is what I get for not reading the whole thread… *headsmack*

  19. Maria says:

So, here I was wracking my brain for a “caption” then I realized I had to name the horse!! Should’ve read better. Well, my name for the horse is in no way gonna compare with jaq’s because that was darn good, giver her the book. But I’m going with “Boogers”. Yes, that’s it: Boogers. Unoriginal and totally childish. (My daughter helped me with this one.)

Meanwhile, the caption is this: “Suzanne makes note to self to ALWAYS bring apples with the camera.”

  20. Jodie says:

I think “Snow Patches” might be a good name. He looks like he has some patches of snow on his face. JZ

  21. Dorothy says:

How about Harlequin (or Harley for short)? Love your blog. I was born in Spencer many(lol)years ago.Love reading about the Black Walnut Festival and Robey theater.
Your blog is the first one I read each morning.

  22. shirley says:

He looks like a CUPCAKE to me. SO CUPCAKE IT IS.

  23. Jill says:

Okay so a few days ago we both posted about getting our cars stuck, and today we’re both having a contest. LOL.

  24. Mari says:

I think Prince Charming would be a good name for this horse, it will give him dignity, therefore helping him with any self esteem problems he may have, and well, although he is funny looking, he puts a smile on my face which makes him, quite charming.

  25. Gloria Jean says:

What a great picture and great horse! I’d call him “Spiro” (after Agnew, of course, just look at that nose!) but your kids will just say, “Who?”.

  26. Fannie M Wiggins says:

I am not good at naming animals. Apparently my kids were not either. πŸ˜† We have had Fluffity, Snowflake, Snowball, Bebo,Duffy, Ruffy, and the pony was Buttermilk. None of those fit that noble horse so my suggestion for a name is NOBLE. Have a great day and  to all.
P.S. there are a lot of good names listed by everyone. Anyone of them would be a winner. :shimmy:

  27. Cindy W. says:

I was going to say Rufus, but that appears to have been taken, so I’ll say “Rusty”. Isn’t he a mule. His legs look too short to be a horse. Can’t really tell from the picture. πŸ™‚ That’s just a thought.

  28. amy addison says:

Snoot. The horse’s name is definitely Snoot.

  29. Karen says:

I say why not “Stormy” in honor of the book. Don’t you just love horses. They bring a big smile to my face.

  30. Karen says:

    How ’bout ‘SNIFFY’ OR ‘SNORT’!

  31. jean says:

Oh darn. The first thing I thought of was Moose. He looked like one as his picture came up on my screen. But someone already picked that name. Hmm, now I have to think…

How about Durante? As in Jimmy Durante.

  32. Lis says:

I’ve got two, Cinn short for cinnamon bun lol and Rudolph because he kinda reminds me of a reindeer!

  33. lintys says:

    He looks like

    Pumpkin Butter

    to me.

  34. Betty G says:

How about “Red Hot Chili Pepper?” Call him “RED” or “PEPPER” for a nickname… Just a thought!

    Betty in Oklahoma

  35. Robynl says:

Before reading what others wrote I thought the white on his head looks like lightning(someone else mentioned that) and so I say:

    Lightning
    Brown Velvet
    Sugar ‘n Spice
    Mr. Blue Eyes
    Snuggles

  36. Maureen says:

Since it’s an Australian prize I would say Russell Crowe.

  37. catslady says:

So many good names and a lot of good ones already taken.

    Doofus
    Lady
    Keely
    Sugar

  38. Donna Mc says:

    If it’s a mare – Nosey Rosey

  39. Amy says:

I’ll go with BusyBody, putting his nose (or hers?) into eveyrone’s business?

  40. Estella says:

How about SOS? Stolen on Saturday or Sunday.

  41. Alice Audrey says:

I’d have gone with something stupid, like Blaze.

  42. Suzanne McMinn says:

This is going to be hard!! I’m glad the kids are going to help!

  43. Ruth says:

How about Nosario Horsefellow–which must be said in your best “Jeeves and Wooster” voice!

  44. Tori Lennox says:

    I like Robin’s suggestion. πŸ™‚

  45. Marie says:

    Aw, what a cute horse!
    How about Shutterbug πŸ™‚

  46. Laurie says:

How about Ida McCluskey? Something about the way she has her nose stretched out reminds me of the nosey neighbor from Desperate Housewives….lol :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

  47. Jake says:

How about “My New Car” πŸ™‚

At least he could get you out of the water. LOL! And, if they die on you…You just bury them in the back forty and the best part…No insurance. LOL! j/k

    I love horse’s.

    I’d call him “Bert”

  48. Paula Bogdan says:

Jimmy Durante! That’s whom I thought of when I saw that nose!

  49. Sue Luna says:

    How about “Nuzzle”!

  50. Amelia says:

Based on his/her color I would name it “Rusty”
