What is everyone doing this weekend? It’s a beautiful, blue sky September weekend in North Carolina and we have soccer on tap. And then tomorrow we will go to church and I am out of racy reading material. I need a new book to take to church to keep me entertained. Any suggestions?

Have you read any of the Tigress books by Jade Lee?:?:

  2. Mary says:

Well, I”ve heard the Bible is racy in parts. πŸ™‚

  3. Cherlyn says:

    :rotfl: at Mary’s comment!

  4. Eve says:

“Unzipped?” by Karen Kendall was good. You don’t want to know what I’m doing this weekend.

  5. Kelly says:

Nothing comes to mind so early in the morning! πŸ˜‰ I’ll be interested in the other recommendations too.

  6. Trace says:

I’m reading Ghosts in the Snow by Tamara Siler Jones, and it is fantastic, but it’s about 500 pages long. So I don’t think you could hide it in church!

I loved The Beast Within, Suzanne. I blogged about it but you were gone to see your folks. Excellent read!

  7. ValMarie says:

I think we’re just doing lesson plans for Ron this weekend (he’s a music teacher) and cleaning. He also has a rehearsal on Sunday. I want to go linedancing tonight, but I don’t know if that will happen. We might have to wait until Tuesday.

Oh, and I’m subbing at the school Ron teaches at on Monday (I’m subbing for Bible). I have a schedule, but no lesson plans, so I have to figure out what the deal is with that. *rolls eyes*

    Sorry, no book recommendations here.

  8. Jill says:

I’m reading Suzanne Brockmann’s latest, not necessarily racy but very good!

  9. Amy K. says:

    Thank you, Suzanne!

This weekend I’m working on a critique and a synopsis. And cleaning the much-neglected house. Yay, weekend.

  10. Peggy says:

Julianne MacLean’s “Love According to Lily”. Am loving it, though not racy…yet, anyways! πŸ™‚

  11. Danni says:

My husband’s little sister (an army vet who was over in the middle east for a good while) is marrying her army man. πŸ˜€ They were friends the whole time they were overseas, then came back and got seperated by orders to different bases, and now she’s been out of the army for 30 days, and he’s going back to Iraq in November. So today is VERY important! WOOT!!!

I’m a little excited can ya tell? hehe!

  12. raine says:

No recommendations, but I’m loving the goodies you carry to church, lol! πŸ˜›

  13. Alyssa says:

I’m reading Marianna Jameson’s My Hero right now. As for my weekend plans, I need to take care of some household things. Ugh.

  14. Rene says:

Soccer, soccer, soccer today. My daughter and her grandmother are hosting a tea party tomorrow and we are talking about taking the kids on a nature hike in the morning.

I’m almost done with HP 6 and then I’m moving on to Lisa Valdez’ historical Passion. It got a good review plus an NC-17 from Romance Reader so I thought I would give it a whirl, plus she is a chapter sister.

  15. Melissa Mc says:

We had soccer this morning and a birthday party for my nephew on Sunday. Other than that, I will be writing, writing, writing.

  16. Toni Anderson says:

Sword fighting and shopping and sniffling with a cold 😐

Not sure what racey is anymore. The goalposts have moved πŸ™‚ Having just read 20 Presents you can always go there!!!

  17. Gina says:

After dealing with one computer crash and saving myself from another, I plan to hopefully write some more in current WIP this weekend. I just started readong Ellen Fisher’s ‘Never love a Stranger’ this week, and I’m loving it so far. Have to love a book that starts out with a guy naked in the heroine’s kitchen.

  18. Crystal* says:

I must say that I absolutely LOVE the picture you posted on Friday. I have three cats. Two males and one female. My baby looks similar to the picture you have. All three are varying shades of orange. Never had a orange cat growing up. I must be making up for lost time.
And this weekend? Since I feel better about life in general, I spent today shopping. By the end of the day, I was tore-up, but it was fun while it lasted. I’m going to be working on short stories today and tomorrow. And tomorrow is FOOTBALL!!!!
Oh…pencil me in for Monday Night Football, too. hehehe

I agree, the Bible has its “racy” parts though not quite in the sense you mean. I don’t know what kind of church you go to but where I go, I’m never bored by the service and actually learn something.

Song of Solomon (parts at least) is thought to be the “racy” book. You could try to find the chapter referred to.:wigglebrow:

My plans: see if there’s a Winnipeg Blue Bomber (CFL) football game on. Otherwise, I’m trying to clear out things for my move by Oct. 31.:hissyfit:

  20. Leanna says:

Oh, yeah, there are definitely racy parts in the bible. Come to my church, Suzanne, you would not be bored. πŸ™‚

My baby turns 6, so we’re celebrating her birthday!

  21. Margery Scott says:

I’m far too pure to read racy books πŸ˜‰
This weekend, I’m trying to write blurbs for a pitch coming up, using your Elements of the Blurb, of course

  22. Mechele Armstrong says:

Song of Solomen from the Bible

I’m a soccer Mom too. Though the dh did it yesterday because I was at a meeting. The four year old hasn’t quite learned…go after the ball yet. Maybe next week.

  23. Carol Burnside says:

Too late to take to church, but the sexual healing trilogy Blazes by Dorie Graham are really good.
