For some mysterious reason, my little angel decided to perform an experiment on cut daffodils. What kind of water would a cut daffodil stay fresh in longest? I’d like to know the answer to this one myself. I like fresh flowers and the longer I can keep them, the better. Mud water will probably have probably give creek water a run for the money but I think I’ll go with creek water.

My guess is no difference between the creek water and sink water.
My son did a similar experiment with cut flowers putting a penny in one vase to see if it made a difference. I don’t remember now if it did…….:???:

Here in Finland we still have plenty of snow, but in one town they already decided to decorate the place with daffodils. They said that daffodils are supposed to survive in pretty low temperatures, even -15C(it still is pretty cold at night), but it still seemed a bit strange with all that snow…

Interesting experiment…my first instinct was to say no difference between sink and creek water.

Hmm. Mine isn’t that clear. It’s a conundrum. There seem too many cons for each one. I’ll be different, though it was my least likely choice: bubbly water. I’m wondering what the bubbles consist of.
Creek does seem to be the most logical. Mud might plug some of the cells or whatever that take in the water. Sink water, depending on where yours comes from, may have too many chemicals.
Yeah, I’ll go for bubbly. Somebody has to support the underdog.:grin:

I think that is the shadow making the sink water look so bad, LOL. (Though it IS from a well and I do NOT drink it!!) Re the bubble water, it is the kind of bubble water that you blow bubbles with.

What a cute experiment. I love the bubble water idea but I have to go with sink water as my daughter works at a florist after school and when she brings flowers home she always goes for plain old tap water.
