I Figured Out What It Was

My kids don’t know what to think of snow like this. When we lived in Texas, it would snow maybe once a year (if we were lucky!) and I would wake them up to HURRY and play in it because the snow would be all melted by 10 A.M. Here, snow lasts for days……. Remember that mysterious object in front of the porch the other day? It was a coffin!!! A little bitty snow coffin. Either my 12-year-old is a budding ice sculptor….or a mortician.

It had a space carved out inside, like you could bury a squirrel in it…… And a lid. But I broke the lid when I took it off to look inside. Shhh!!! Don’t tell!! It wasn’t me!! I didn’t do it!!!

I’m afraid if he finds out, he’ll build a bigger coffin next time………..

I’d say that’s a budding ice-sculptor. That’s really impressive handy work. Does he carve or do carpentry?

  2. catslady says:

But you didn’t say – was there anything in it:shocked:

  3. Tori Lennox says:

    That is too, too funny!

  4. Melissa says:

I’d say that’s a budding mortician. And, the next idea for an episode of Medium.
Does he see dead people? 😆

  5. Fannie M Wiggins says:

And why can’t he be both? Morticians have a life outside the funeral home, don’t they?? I do have to say that is one cool coffin,(no pun intended). Get that kid a carving knife and turn him loose. There’s no telling what might wind up in your yard, maybe even a rooster. :rotfl: Hugs to everyone.

  6. Jennifer Yates says:

A coffin!?!?! 😮 Anything go missing or pass away recently? Did he bury a squirrel in it? :rotfl:

Looks almost like a flower box when it is open.

Psst…I don’t quite understand how today’s Google ads came from your post.

  7. Suzanne says:

Hmmm, humidity indicators for the google ads. Weird!

  8. Lynn Daniels says:

I was :rotfl: at all the comments about your budding mortician/sculptor. What does he have to say about it?

  9. ruby55 says:

I’ll say he’s an ice sculptor. It takes a lot of perserverance and more talent than I have to carve even flat walls like that. It’s really well done.

Talking of morticians, did anybody else read “Grave Intents” by Deborah LeBlanc? That gives you a glimpse into the life of a mortician. It’s a very well thought out book with a satisfying conclusion. Well worth reading. Came out last year.

  10. Estella Kissell says:

I think the humidity ads came from talking about snow and ice.

  11. Eve says:

I’m with Fannie – why can’t he be both?

Weather report from the DFW area – 80 degrees today and tomorrow, then plummet to the 40s on Friday, 30s on Saturday, 40s again in Sunday – hence life in Texas! Oh, maybe some sleet on Saturday morning – but no snow yet this winter at all!

    Oh my!!
