I See Wild Horses!!!!

YES!!! So much for looking for them in the mornings. They showed up yesterday afternoon in the dunes to the side of the house! I leaped up and ran out there to see them! I’d just taken the dogs for a walk in the surf and a big wave had surprised me and gotten my clothes wet. I had taken my shorts off and put them in the laundry, so I was waiting for the dryer to be done…..

And yes, you know where this is going. I had no pants on. THIS DID NOT STOP ME from running outside with my camera, despite the fact that there were other people around. I DID NOT CARE. There were wild horses, people! Wild horses! This is the baby.

There were four of them, three adults and one baby. They stayed in the dunes to the side of the house quite a while, chomping on the grasses, then strolled out toward the beach road between the homes. I was able to get pretty close to this one.

My daughter, who takes horseback riding lessons, was thrilled. Here she is trying to creep up to one of them.

When they were done at our house, they wandered off down the beach road to look for more grass……..

And I went inside to put pants on.

OMG! The horses are beautiful! I’ve been a horse lover since I was a little girl…wanted one in my backyard, but unfortunately, we lived in the city, so my parents vetoed that idea real quick. LOL.

  17. Tori says:

They’re so pretty!!! And they immediately reminded me of Misty of Chincoteague (though I think that was in Virginia… ah, after checking the atlas, yes it is). Anyway. Bet they’re the same type of horses. πŸ™‚

:bananadance: Yippee! You saw them! I’m so pleased for you. I’d love to see them too. I still have a whole bunch of children’s horse stories.

It would have been so πŸ™ if you hadn’t seen them. I bet it made your day or even week. Are they really smaller than the average horse? I really love those pictures.

  31. Teresa says:
