Does the beach make me look thinner?

I got on the scale this morning. I almost NEVER weigh myself. Scales suck. They are always saying such rude things!!!! (How often do you weigh yourself? Or do you never?) I haven’t gotten on the scale in about two months. This morning I got on it and off it and on it about ten times. I couldn’t believe it. I’ve lost 30 pounds since the beginning of the summer!!!!!!!!

    Awesome, Suzanne!!!!

Yeah, haven’t looked since birth of last child…two years ago!

  2. Eve says:

    Yay Suzanne :bananadance:

Scales are illegal in our home and anyone bringing any in is subject to the death penalty – my sitting on them!

  3. MartyK says:

Congrats! I don’t own a scale…I have one of those borderline personalities where I can obsess about it, so I figure as long as my clothes fit, I’m still ok. Any tips? How’d you do it?

  4. Sandy J says:

Way to go, Suzanne! Any hints on how you did it? :hyper:

  5. Suzanne says:

I don’t know how I did it. I hadn’t realized I’d lost that much weight! It wasn’t a diet or anything. I just ate less. LOL.

  6. Leanna says:

No wonder your pants were falling off!
Way to go! Figure out your secret and share please!

  7. Mik says:

That’s wonderful, Suzanne! I’d say that calls for a new outfit. :guitar:

  8. Melissa says:

That’s awesome, Suz. I wish I could lose 30 pounds pronto! I did lose around 9 in 3 weeks. I only allow myself to be weighed at the doctor’s office and sometimes I don’t even let them do it.

  9. Sela says:

Bitch. All that weight you lost had to go somewhere. It’s hanging off my tummy, butt and thighs now. The upside is — more cleavage!
    Congrats on the slimmer you!!

  10. Eve says:

    Sela – cleavage?

  11. Suzanne says:

Sela has extremely impressive cleavage. You can see it on show if you go to my photoblog and click on the RWA conference category.:hyper:

  12. ruby55 says:

:bananadance: Wow! Suzanne, that’s great–as long as you’re sure the scale is correct on other items. πŸ˜€

Maybe all that rushing around without pants, had a double effect–rushing + angst(embarrassment)= weight loss. Sounds like a new formula for weight loss.

Actually, I do have scales in the house, buried under stuff. I very rarely use them but I also lost weight–by eating less. I just don’t feel like eating when I’m stressed out. Others are just the opposite.

I’m going to have to be stingy with my visits for the next little while. I have to move in less than 3 weeks and still haven’t decided where to. My place is so crowded I’m black and blue all over from bumping into things. I don’t even have a space to put an empty box to pack. And all those books. Yikes. I’m getting to panic mode. And πŸ˜₯ I have to do it all alone. Two of my friends are too sick; one is in England until Oct. 25; my landlady keeps reminding me of the date and what things I shouldn’t forget. I have no car to get anywhere–not even to drop things off at Goodwill. And I’ve got books out of my ears–oh, did I say that already?

My family here is too busy to help much. I’m just getting over a bad cold or flu or something. It’s big-time pity time. Sniff. And at the best of times, I’m not well. Oh, yes, I jammed one of my fingers in my walker. Nothing’s going right. :hissyfit:

But with God’s help I know I’ll make it–somehow. My pastor’s wife even drove me around to look at several places yesterday. Some were real dumps but some have definite possibilities. (Humm, I’m trying to look on the bright side here. I hope you noticed. πŸ™‚

My sister said she’d try to come and help but they’ve got guests until the end of next week, I think. And they themselves have to move by the Nov. 7. But at least she’s got 3 men that can do most of the work–though her husband splintered his wrist in a fall from a tree. Anyway somehow it’ll get done…

P.S. I’m not going anywhere without my books.

  13. Suzanne says:

Sigrun, good luck with the move! Moving is so much work. I’ll miss you and look forward to when you can be back more!

  14. Emma S says:

Wow congrats on the weightloss. I also happened to step on the scale the other day, and I’m pretty sure I can tell you where your 30 pounds went. πŸ˜₯

  15. Eve says:

Ooops – I didn’t look back at the my last entry after posting – that WAS supposed to say “more cleavage?” I love the cleavage pic from the conference – the one with Sasha.

  16. Sonja says:

    Good for you!!

Now divulge your weight loss success secrets. πŸ™‚ Curious readers want to know.

  17. Cynthia says:

Yea! Can I borrow your scale? πŸ˜‰

  18. Toni Anderson says:

    WOW!!! 30lbs?? That’s incredible.

My dog put on 40 lbs in a year of North American living!!! I didn’t notice either. Now he’s been put on a diet and had to lose it, poor baby.

I never get on the scales, don’t have scales, just know I’ve eaten too much if the jeans don’t fit πŸ˜•

  19. Robyn says:

My goodness, do give me the secret. PLEASE!! Way to go; that is the best way by not trying too hard.:bananadance:

  20. Tori says:

I never weigh myself at home. It’s bad enough I have to get on them every three months at the doctor’s office. Ugh! :wall:

  21. Teresa says:

    WOOO-WHOOOO!!! Suzanne! That’s fabulous!!:bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance: Congratulations. Wow, you’ve inspired me.

  22. Michelle says:

Good for you!! Dang it, now I have to keep up with you! :whip:

  23. Tammy C says:

WTG Suzanne! I have scales in my house but there only for weighing my dog, who is suppose to be on a diet. I only get on the scales at the doctors office and I turn around backwards so I can’t see what it says and threaten the nurse with death if she even attemps to say it out loud. πŸ‘Ώ

  24. mary beth says:

Woo Hoo Suzanne! 30 pounds is great!

  25. TeresaH says:

Good for you Suzanne! That is great! I have to step on the scales at the doctors office every month since he’s had me on a diet. I don’t mind it toooooo terribly bad as long as the numbers go down, even by just a pound or two, than up!

  26. kacey says:

cool and congrats on the weight loss! BTW…my kitty loves it when I read your blog…he plays with teaberry and goes crazy…

  27. Mary Stella says:

That’s great, Suzanne! If I were you, I’d carry the scale around with me and show people! Okay, I wouldn’t, but that’s how great I’d feel!

  28. Joely says:

    Wow, that’s awesome, Suzanne!

  29. Melissa Marsh says:

AWESOME, Suzanne!!! I have struggled with my weight ever since I had my daughter. Maybe if I quit worrying about it so much, it will just fall off, like yours did! πŸ™‚

  30. armywifetoddlermom says:

Scale? What is this thing you speak of?

  31. Kate says:

    Wow. Wow.
That’s a lot to lose…I know where some of your pounds ended up, unfortunately.

  32. Michelle says:

    Suzanne,
That is awesome. I’m doing the whole eating less thing too, but I’m not sure I’m having the sucess you are having. But fantastic!!!

Did you feel that cold snap in the air this morning? I think maybe the trees will start turning now. (from another North Carolinan) Now if I could just kill the ants in my yard I’d be a happy camper!

Ever heard of confused cleavage? It’s that cleavage under your arm that doesn’t know which way to go…*snort* Learned that one from my twenty two year neice. I asked her if that was what she was learning in college…LOL

  33. Desperate Writer says:

    Congratulations! That’s terrific!
