That Was Intense

I didn’t win the SAM-e contest. (Read SAM-e’s announcement here.) And I want you to know that it’s okay. Please don’t worry about me. What I’m most worried about is you. You worked so hard. I can’t thank you enough for everything you did. I was bowled over by your support.

Please join me in thanking SAM-e for giving me this opportunity. I also want to tell you how well I was treated by the people at Ignite Social Media, the marketing company who operated the contest for SAM-e. I was notified by phone in advance of the announcement and given the news privately. I was told they fell in love with me and my animals and my website, and about what a difficult decision it had been. I was told they watched my video over and over because they loved it that much, and some of them are now daily readers of Chickens in the Road as a result. I truly appreciate the respect with which they treated me personally, and I want you to know about that.

I also want to thank Jerry Waters, whose technical wizardry helped me create the video I submitted to SAM-e for the contest. In a forward-thinking moment, at the time the video was shot, we shot an alternate ending to the video. The contest video ends with the words, “Thanks for voting. See you at SAM-e.” In the alternate ending, I say, “Welcome to Chickens in the Road.” I realized at the time that the video was a perfect introduction to my website for new visitors. The welcome video, with the alternate ending inserted, is now here for new visitors to my site to find and enjoy.

The best thing that came out of this contest, to me, was the deeper connection I feel with you as my audience, and also the connections you have made together as a community. This has been an amazing thing. You are amazing. Thank you so much. (I can’t say that enough.)

I was told that they will be holding the Good Mood Blogger contest again next year, and I was personally invited to enter. I want to assure you that I will not. I will never again enter a contest like this. I don’t say that with any negative inference regarding SAM-e or the contest. It’s just not my style. It was an impulsive decision with no idea of what it would entail. It was intense. My focus is this website, and I promise you that from now on, it will not waver. Five minutes of wavering and impulsivity took me off-track. I won’t do it again. The only website-oriented contest I have ever been interested in is the Bloggies. The Bloggies is the most prestigious award on the internet for the best in blogs. Last year, Chickens in the Road was a nominee. The Bloggies, as opposed to the SAM-e contest, is not a daily vote. It’s a one shot deal. You vote, you’re done. (You can’t even see the vote count. It’s nothing like the SAM-e contest.) It doesn’t depend on rounding up connections and connections of connections. It depends on your readers. In other words, you. Why would I want to be a nominee again? Because it gives my blog exposure to new traffic, which will help me make a living writing this website. The nominations for the Bloggies will open at the beginning of the year, and if I haven’t worn you out with this other thing, I hope that you will be there. But never, and I promise never, will I ask you to do something like the SAM-e contest again. I hope I can talk you into putting up with the Bloggies once a year. Either way, I will be here every day and I hope you will, too!

And! I want to tell you that exciting things are in the works. For one thing, I will be appearing on Blog Talk Radio on January 17. I’ll provide more specific info as the date nears.

I also have a HUGE surprise coming. HUGE. Did I mention the huge part???? I’ll be launching an entirely new facet of my website in a few months. I’m not talking about some tiny thing. I’m talking HUGE. And you will be able to be a part of it. It’s going to be fabulous and exciting. And I’m not going to tell you any more than that just yet because I’m such a stinker.

I want to end by telling you THANK YOU again. Please know that I love every single one of you for what you did. I work hard on this site for you.

And here’s a fluffy chicken butt.

Aww, I’m sorry you didn’t get the job, Suzanne. You would have been wonderful at it! I must say I’m very disapponted. And of course you can count on us for the bloggie vote — all you have to do is ask! We love you right back! :chicken:

  2. Wendy says:

I’m sorry you didn’t get the job. I voted every day. I must say it was a very predictable choice….What! I’m just sayin’ what all your fans are thinkin’.
Their loss is our gain because you’ll have more time for us:)

  3. Patricia Herman says:

Sorry you didn’t get the job but that just means bigger and better things are in your future. Looking forward to your announcement!!! BTW now you have to deal with a blizzard/snow and making sure you have plenty of tinfoil on hand…

Hugs to you Suzanne and your blog brightens my day everyday!!!!!

  4. Valerie says:

I feel sad you didn’t win for so many reasons . But I totally agree with what you wrote when you mention the connection between you and your readers, and between we readers. It’s absolutely amazing and truly an awe-inspiring kinship. Of course we’ll be voting for you in the bloggies, just give us the word. And though I’d personally repeat what I did as far as SAM-e goes, I understand and respect what you are saying.
Now, hows about a lil clue regarding the H U G E surprise? Has it anything to do with fluffy chicken butts? Velvet donkey noses? Am I close??

  5. Deborah R says:

Well, I’m sorry you didn’t get the gig. I know it was hard work and I know it took time from other things you might have preferred doing.

But you fought a fair and honorable fight, and you won something perhaps more important than the SAM-e gig: the admiration and respect of your readers, old and new.

But sheesh…you said “never again.” You know what happens when you say “never.” And we’ll be there. 😀

  6. Becky says:

I’m sorry they didn’t choose you but if you hadn’t entered the contest, I might not have heard about your blog. So, I’m glad you did! I’ll vote for you with the upcoming contest. 🙂

  7. M.J. says:

It was their decision, but it is their loss. You and your supporters behaved with exemplary grace and dignity through it all, Suzanne–even to today’s post. I’m confident that good things lie ahead in 2010.

  8. Cheryl says:

Words cannot express what I’m thinking about the Sam-e contest….okay, they could express my thoughts, but I am not going to type them. Mostly I am not, because I respect and admire you.

But now that this little *thing* is in the past, we can all look forward to better things in the future, starting with the bloggie awards!

You put your heart and soul into this blog, that helps each of us keep our priorities straight and our eyes on the future. How? Because you manage to balance real life with humor and that is a lesson worthy of learning. *Good Mood*? How about learning to deal with life and enjoying the present?….Ordinary Splendor!

    You rock, Suzanne!

  9. Myrna Mackenzie says:

Suzanne, you are a class act. With a great blog that is only going to grow and grow in readership. Chickens in the Road has become a part of the fabric of so many people’s lives. And if there’s one good thing the Sam-e contest did, it created a bond between those of us who love reading your blog. It also inspired us to talk to other people who then came over here to see what they were missing. And it only takes one visit to get hooked on Chickens.

I wouldn’t miss my daily visit here. Even on the rare days when I’m running so much that I don’t get to comment, I still make sure I squeeze in a few minutes to read your post (loved yesterday’s totally cute cookies by the way, and your son was a super sport to let you post his photo. Gotta love a guy who finds it in his heart to agree to go public to please his mom).

I can’t wait to vote for you in The Bloggies and to find out what the surprise is. Especially if it’s huge! :happyfeet:

  10. Patty Norton says:

Suzanne, You are a winner. We know it. The chickens know it. All the critters know it.
I am a believer and I know God blesses us with our losses too.
The contest was just to let you know that you are a blessings in our lives. So you are being prepared for something bigger and better.
I want to say thanks so much for being there for me. I am daily blessed by your talents and the fact that you share them with such joy. Thanks for giving of yourself. I know you will make it finacially because you have investments in love that money cannot buy.

  11. CindyP says:

Where a door closes, a window opens……..I’m disappointed yes, just because you were the perfect candidate in my eyes, but they must have their reasons. And for them to call you personally, I think that says alot for them as a company, maybe not HR 😉 , and what they thought of you!!!

    HUGE surprise??? CAN’T WAIT!!

And the Bloggies……….it was easy clicking over to Sam-e daily, what’s 1 vote??? Just tell us when!!!

And I LOVE the video you made, it makes a great welcome to your site!

:woof:  :woof:  :woof:  :woof:  :woof:  :woof:  :woof:  :woof:  :woof:  :woof: :woof:

  12. Michele says:

Your website is beautiful, what can I say. I like your style, good things will come out of this. Move forward. I keep hearing on the news about that big storm coming your way. All that stocking up will pay off! :hungry:

  13. Susan says:

Suzanne, I’m disappointed. The way you entered the contest late and moved ahead of all the other contenders was phenominal. The Sam-e people had to have been impressed. I know I was.

I still see a bright future ahead. Maybe this contest got the attention of someone that will lead to an even bigger opportunity.

Warm hugs to you and the critters on this snowy evening,

    Susan

  14. Leah says:

Just let me know when it’s time for the bloggies! So,youre keeping us in suspense once again. :happyfeet:

  15. Mariah says:

I’m disappointed for you, but you are gracious and classy about it all, and I SO admire that! You are amazing in so many ways! Your drive, your energy, your commitment, your motivation….it’s all so clear in the snippets we get to see of you. I very much appreciate this site, and if you change your mind about entering SAM-e again, or any other contest, I am completely behind you…it was a pleasure to vote daily for you. Seriously.

Can’t wait for the HUGE news!!! 🙂

  16. Victoria Sturdevant says:

I’m glad we”re here together! You’ll get my Bloggie vote.

  17. BuckeyeGirl says:

Well, I’m sorry you didn’t get the job Suzanne, they don’t know what they’re missing! I can see why you wouldn’t want to enter the same sort of contest again, but I think quite a few of us got a little thrill out of trying to drum up votes for you and spreading the word to friends about voting and all. There was some odd vicarious thrill out of the whole thing. A little weird maybe, but somehow fun too so don’t feel bad about us voting.

I think people got to feel like they were helping you out a little… I mean, you help all of us out every day by sharing little views of your world, we felt like we got to help you out a little by rocking the vote for you! Still, at least the suspense is over now. :sun:

  18. Kristie Lynn says:

I actually found your blog while voting for a different one for the Sam-e Good Mood Blogger job. I love the way you write and your positivity is so refreshing, as are the stories about life on the farm. So I’m thankful for your moment of impulsiveness, at least 🙂

  19. Becky says:

Suzanne, just wanted to say you won! we get to wake up and read you everyday!!Thank you!!

  20. Laurie says:

    Suzanne,
I found your site on a random search right after Thanksgiving. I got my mother and myself hooked (she LOVES animals as much as I do). I made a bunch of your recipes already that my husband loved. Your cornbread was to DIE for. I enjoyed voting too, it was fun, not a burden as you may think. Let us know when to vote again, I will be there

Your new friend, Laurie :moo: from the dairyland state

  21. maryann says:

Suzanne, I am sorry that you didn’t get the job but don’t worry about us, we love you. It was no hardship on our part to vote for you everyday or talk others into voting for you too.

  22. maddie james says:

Suzanne, your site is fabulous. You rock. And I don’t get here often enough.I need to correct that! Looking forward tot he HUGE addition!

    maddie

  23. mirela says:

    Hi Suzanne,
I really wanted you to win the Sam-e contest b/c you deserved to. It’s ok, as you said, you can do without it, I’m sure, but…
Anyway, I’ll do anything I can to help you get more exposure, half of my staff at work has tried numerous recipes from your website, and the other half won’t get a bonus this year if they don’t try the Grandmother Bread 🙂 Love your writing and your photos, keep going!

  24. Christopher says:

    I am a cynic,and Im mad.

Cynical, because it was a publicity stunt to push Sam-e.California versus West Virginia! volume versus quality,no contest. I wont get personal. Its a marketing ploy.

Mad. Because Corporate America is about bums on seats, bang for your buck, dumbing down to the lowest common denominator.

You are too good for this Suzanne.Your passion comes from your heart, not from your purse.Your grit and determination to build the life you want, and to allow us to take part speaks volumes for you.
I applaud your decision not to take part again.
If we could give you back a small portion of that which you give us so freely, you would be a rich woman.
Onward and Upwards Suzanne, there is much ahead.

  25. Maureen says:

I’m looking forward to your HUGE announcement and it was fun to vote for you and I am truly sorry you did not win.

  26. ShadowWoods says:

    Suzanne,
    YOU brighten our day.
    YOU inspire our lives.
    YOU make us dream.
More BRIGHT and INSPIRED DREAMS are coming YOUR way!!!
    It’s guaranteed!

  27. Carol Langille says:

I’m a level-headed woman and have never watched soap operas or got involved in series type TV shoes like “Dallas” or the one with the mean black haired gal in Denver. I’ve never been like that….until now.
I get up at 4 am to go to work and this site is the first thing I go to. Either here at home with a big fat black cat sitting in front of the monitor or in the office right before all heck breaks loose (I’m a PBX operator for a large hospital group) but I read you every single day. Sometimes two or three times a day and I check out the recipes and re-look at the photos. You have become as much a part of my morning as brushing my teeth.
I’m sorry you didn’t win the Sam-E contest but I’ grateful for the opportunity to vote everyday. It was a pleasure and will be agan if you decide to do another contest.
You are truly a joy to be ‘friends’ with.

  28. Tracey In Paradise,Pa. says:

:sun: And we love you and your blog Dear Friend!! Thats what this blog is to me a Dear Friend!! You are wonderful Suzanne!! Thanks for sharing your gifts with us!!
    Hugs Granny Trace

  29. Kelly says:

(((Suzanne))). Giant hugs from here in Ohio! I love this site and want to thank you for sharing bits of your country life with us. It was a pleasure voting for you!

Surprise? Huge? I love surprises! Can’t wait to see what you are up to!

  30. Linda says:

I’m sorry for you that you didn’t get the Sam-e job. It was no problem voting but I completely understand how you felt about rounding up the votes. Who needs that kind of fierce competition and the added stress?
I love reading your blog each day and have linked it to mine. Can’t wait to know what’s HUGE.
Enjoy the snow today. I know you will.
(That’s what makes you OUR SAM-e girl.) :sheepjump:

  31. Karen Anne says:

I’m so sorry you didn’t win.

What is almost equally distressing is that the votes for the other top candidates near the end seemed fraudulent. This does not reflect well on the company either.

  32. Andrea says:

I’m sorry you didn’t get the job. As time went by with no news, I was hoping that was in your favor.
Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas.

  33. Claudia says:

I am sorry you didn’t win as well, but you entered and did your best and that takes guts. We all had fun voting and rooting for you. Bring on the bloggies!!! :sun:

  34. Connie Trippett says:

Im sorry you didnt get the job! But, if in the future you need a vote somewhere, just tell me where and I’ll be there. My day is just not complete unless I get my chickens in the road.

Suspense on the huge surprise? I can’t stand to have part of something told to me and then be made to wait for the rest (you are not nice.lol) Anyway, me and daughters are making the reindeer cookies and chocolate marshmallows today, since the snow is everywhere.

  35. Johanna says:

Thanks for the chicken butt. I needed that!

  36. Kimberly says:

Sometimes, without Chickens in the Road, I wouldn’t know what to do with myself! Hubby laughs when I sit down to the computer and say “Well, what are we going to do today, Suzanne?”. I am sorry you didn’t win because there are soooo many people out there that would love you as much as we do but just don’t know you are around. Make yourself a cup of Friendship Tea and have a great day!

    Good morning Suzanne.
I am with the others readers as far as the “contest” is concered–it was all about the numbers, and I will say no more, your readers know what I mean. We are all glad for you that it is over, you showed style and grace through out the whole thing, and your readers as well
When it comes to the bloggies, we are your lean, mean, voting machine. Well, in my case, not so lean, but we are here for you.
Now–about the surprize–it will be like waiting for Christmas all over again! I wonder–are numbers involved??
This morning we woke up to our first real snow fall in this part or Ohio, and it is beautiful! The bushes look like giant cupcakes with fluffly white frosting.
Today I start my cookie and candy making, I will be rolling in dought–the cookie kind! Most of the recipes I am using this year are from you.
I will be a good day to spend in the kitchen and look out at the snow in the woods.
I hope this comment doesnt appear twice, I always forget to fill in the name and mail thing, have a good day and if you have it, enjoy the snow.

Christopher– I just read your comment–you are so right in what you said.
    Thank you.

  39. trish says:

I saw this last night before I went to bed and I was so upset I could not sleep. Sadly though I wasn’t surprised. I am glad that you were treated so well.

On the other hand I can now tell you what I could not say before. I tried the SamE and it Does. Not. Work. Save your money. It is expensive.

I will vote for anything you need Just say the word. I am a true fan of this blog.

I am going to make the marshmallows on a lollipop stick this weekend for treats for the office. Can’t wait.

  40. Mary Lou says:

It’s their loss. I know I am going to sound negative when I say this, but I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who smelled something funny when thousands…and I mean thousands of votes popped up on a couple of sites in just a matter of a few hours. I was hoping you would win. Personally, I get all the coaching I need on physical exercise, nutrition and making lists from television.
Your blog is what Americans really need…living the “real” life..appreciating the simple things and finding your happiness within you home and family.

Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, I will continue to get my lift for the day from you and your wonderful blog.

  41. Laura says:

Plain and simply—-we, your faithful readers, LOVE YOU!!!! I am sure there are even better things on the horizon for you, your family and all your critters.

  42. Rose says:

Sorry you did not win, but I have enjoyed reading your blog everyday! As we keep having less and less money to spend I find it rewarding to read how everyone else is doing with less. One great idea leads to two more, and so on. Now if DC could get the message! I will be back everyday to see what you and your staff are working on, and what is going on! To you and your family a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! Keep up the great work!

  43. WatkinsGal says:

Suzanne, The extra income from the gig would have been NICE…I’m sure…sure know it would be a huge help for my family during these tough times… But the exposure your site got from entering the gig had to be huge, that has to be a plus for you. So glad the sam-e folks were kind to you. Thanks for all you do to make my mornings cherry and bright!

  44. Nita in SC says:

Fluffy chicken butts right back at ya, babe! Thanks for the daily smile, every. single. day. :happyflower:

  45. Phyllis says:

So sorry you didn’t win. Talk about a Good Mood, Suzanne you are awesome!!! Your readers are the winners here. We have our very own SUZ-E girl.

  46. Judy@daily yarns says:

I’m sorry you didn’t win. I can’t wait the see the HUGE surprise.

  47. Melinda says:

The riches you received from this contest were worth more than silver and gold ( I didn’t go see who won because I am so irked even though I know you took it like a class act lady…I don’t have to lol)
I think everyone likes affirmation that they are doing a good job and I think the largest thing to come out of this contest was a very real affirmation for you that you are highly thought of, deeply cared for, and that you have found your niche in life…your talent for writing obviously is superior, but more importantly, you show by example how to be gracious in even disappointing circumstances.
You are truly a rich woman. Rich in ways that matter.
Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family :sheep:

  48. Mary says:

Well, yes, I too voted once each day since the beginning, but it was starting to go bad. Even at one point I remember you questioning why you had even entered. I can’t believe they are actually going to have another contest like that next year. You are certainly showing Class by not entering. Thank you for being who we already Know you are…a class act, a good and superbly talented Lady. I won’t be looking at SAMe site every again, but I will be coming here as I have for the past 2 year for my morning good mood blog. Thank you, Suzanne!

  49. Nancy says:

Suzanne, I’m sorry you didn’t get the job, but only because the money was quite good.

I do wish the winner luck, but I can’t help but wonder how steady the readership will be with Sam-E, and whether the winner can sustain her readership (not to mention build it further). That’s the issue with popularity contest. The glitter falls off.

Your readership is solid, and constantly grows.

    Corporate America stumbles once again.

    Nancy

  50. wkf says:

Hey sorry you didn”t win. We like you here! Last night I got together with some friends and walked over to her Christmas tree, “Are those “Chicken in the Road” Stars?” I asked her. She said yes and laughingly told me how much fun she had making them. Then ran over to her counter to show me her cranberry sauce in jars! You inspire and motivate people, its a gift! I for one appreciate it. Thank you!

  51. wkf says:

Oh and how much snow have you gotten? I have serious snow envy!!

  52. Jan says:

Suzanne: You don’t have to apologize. As a daily reader, I kind of enjoyed the frantic voting and keeping track of your number of votes. It was a little diversion for us.

Please watch the “never, never” promises! As you admit, you did gain new exposure and readership and OH what publicity for Wild, WONDERFUL (snowed in) West Virginia!

Love your “fluffy chicken butt” photo. Stop by and see my Merry Christmas Chihuahua if you have time. It isn’t as relevant to your farm as my Chicken Crossing the road the other Saturday, but it is GOOD. Hint, “Feliz Navidad.”

  53. KentuckyFarmGirl says:

I couldn’t have said it better than the 44 people before me!

We love you! I have your blog, a cup of coffee and it’s snowing…awwwww….the perfect morning!

  54. Sarah in Sanford says:

Hey suzanne, sorry you didn’t get the job. You sooo deserved it. I still read everyday and look forward to what you have to share with all of us adoring fans. Your site is the first place I go when I get on the internet everyday. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us.
It snowed here in Sanford yesterday for about fifteen minutes. It was pretty when it was falling, but didn’t last long enough. I guess if I want to see snow I’ll have to come here and look at your pictures.

  55. Gail says:

Suzanne, your blog fans voted for you out of love and faithfulness
and not out of a sense of duty. Although I would have liked for you
to win for the money part and knowing you would do a fantastic job, there was never any doubt in my mind that you are the winner. You see, you are a winner in each of our hearts for the being the real you and sharing that with us every day, cheering us up and making our day and inspiring us to try new things. Why do you think you have so many blog followers? There is a simple answer to that and it is just because of who you are, and how you are able to communicate that to us. We love you Suzanne, and you are our WINNER!

  56. Patti says:

    Sorry Suzanne…what a class act….great post. Can’t wait to see the ” HUGE ” surprise….

  57. Patty says:

Wow, they totally made the wrong choice, but you know what? I’m showing up HERE for my “Good Mood Blog”, because this is where I ALWAYS find it. More good things are in store for you Suzannne!

  58. stefinity says:

oh Suzanne we LOVE everything about YOU! We will do whatever you ask of us because you are the best in the world!

Can’t wait to see pictures of your snow! I live in Spencer and we have probably 10-12 inches right now! LOVE IT!

    ((((BIG HUGS)))))

  59. Euni Moore says:

I am sorry that the SAM-E thing went the other way. The respect shown you by the company was great, but I don’t think they really know how much they have lost with their choice. Their loss is our gain. Since stumbling onto your blog not a day goes by without my kick start for the day. Thank you for being the inspiration for so many of us to turn bacl the clock of “progress” to a gentler, more fulfilling life style. Stay warm and cozy in your piece of WV heaven.

    Euni

  60. Sandra says:

Suzanne, there is truth to the old adage, “When one door closes, another opens.” It is our pleasure, joy and delight to walk through the newly opened door with you. Thanks so much for the fun and inspiration you add to our lives. BTW…because hens sit on eggs do they have fluffier butts than the roosters? I am not experienced in farm things so that may be a dumb question to most farmers.

  61. Claudia W says:

What Christopher said. I have to agree.
But you are made of sweeter stuff and that is what I love about you. You are a fun, hard working person with a fantastic sense of values and that I admire most.
I just want to thank you for all you give to us each day.
I will be here to vote in the Bloggies, because you so deserve that!

  62. Cathy J says:

I am looking forward to the New Year with you, Suzanne and all the friends who join with me every day to peak out your window. As far as the blog vote goes, you have an army of chicken carrying warriors behind you, lol. You are blessed and so are we! Merry Christmas!

  63. sondra says:

Can’t wait to see what is to come for Chickens In The Road! I love your blog!

  64. SuseM says:

Suzanne, sure I am disappointed you didn’t get the SAM-e job, not for me, but for you. I know you could use the money. If you ever decide to do something like this again, I will be there to vote for YOU! We love you, Suzanne.

  65. Victoria says:

After several attempts to write something positive about the outcome, I’ve failed, so let me just say, fluffy chicken butts sums it up well. Hugs and appreciation. So if you can’t let us in on the HUGE surprise can you tell us how long we will have to wait to here what it is?
    Not so Patient Victoria

  66. trish robichaud says:

suzanne, let me just say im sorry we didnt win. i say we because we were all in it together. we love you and yes we will be ok. its thier loss thats for sure. life goes on, you give us more than any pill could ever. like the fluffy chicken butt. made me laugh when i needed it. thats what you do everyday for me. thank you so much and merry christmas

  67. Nancy says:

I’m sorry you didn’t win for the money part of it, but boy what a creepy experience that contest seemed to be. It was so manipulative and insincere – I will stay as far away from Sam-e products as I can! and what are they selling? Some weird mood elevator. Yucky. Your response to the contest just confirms for me what a super person you seem to be. Thanks for all you do here.

  68. Miss Becky says:

Suzanne, I believe that you DID win. While the contest was going on I was aware of what was happening here on this wonderful blog about “ordinary splendor” and it was magical. YOU WON. You won the hearts of so many people, your daily fans and so many new fans because of the contest. The contest was an opportunity for us to realize and appreciate even more the gift before us ~ Chickens in the Road. Thanks for being here every day, and thanks for the magnificent splendor of you, Suzanne McMinn, and all of those marvelous fluffy chicken butts.

  69. debbie malinak says:

Love me some fluffy chicken butts! Sorry u didn’t win but i feel your future is bright. I read you every morning! Can’t get my day started without you (and my coffee). God bless you.

  70. Jo says:

Oh, Suzanne….Chris from the UK took the words out of my mouth (although I wouldn’t have known how to put it into words), and everyone else has too.

You are too good for Sam-e. And I’m not saying that like some kind of “temper tantrum”. I saw the job with them as a vehicle for you, not a destination. I so wanted you to win the job so that you wouldn’t have to worry financially for a few months. And for the exposure it would’ve brought you….but I think just being IN the contest gave you plenty of exposure.

I can’t say as eloquently what everyone else has said my appreciation for you and the life you share with us. Let’s just say, “I want to be like you when I grow up!!!” And I’m 45 years old…is it too late? 😮

I can’t wait to find out what the surprise is!!! :hissyfit: Please don’t make us wait too long to find out!

  71. Anne says:

I just know that something even better than winning the SamE competition is just down the road for you! Life is good, for sure.

  72. Mama Pea says:

Please don’t have one more teeny, tiny, inkling of a thought of feeling bad or uncomfortable in any way because of “asking” anything of us who are your faithful readers. Don’t you realize that you presented a way for us to give something back to you by voting every day? THAT WAS A GIFT YOU GAVE TO US.

Our sad, screwed up world doesn’t need any more false glitz and glamour or superficial, shallow images touted as ideals for which to strive. We desperately need to get back to basics, relearning how to take care of ourselves and exhibiting a good healthy dose of personal responsibility. That’s what you have to offer on a daily basis.

Keep doing what you’re doing. You have true style, grace and CLASS! Classy, classy, classy . . . that’s what you have been through all of this.

  73. Cottage Smallholder says:

What a shame. Your blog is so much broader and deeper than the one that won. Since I discovered your blog in the autumn I visit every day.

  74. Cindy says:

I still say that it’s SAM-E’s loss. Maybe, right now, you’re just simply exhausted from the whole competition and the emotional roller coaster, and by next year you’ll be rarin’ to go and win! Er, or not.

I was thinking your site should be in the Webby Awards, but the time to have the stuff put in for judging ended yesterday. Maybe someone else here was smarter (and faster) than me. But, I will definitely vote in the Bloggies. I read a lot of journals online, Suzanne. I mean it when I say that I think yours is one of the absolute best.

  75. auntbear says:

Voted for you in the “best-kept secret”category at the Bloggies last year. I don’t think you belong there anymore.

  76. Carmen Smith says:

You ARE a winner in my eyes, your blog brightens my days with your wonderful posts and pictures, I wish you could have won the money part, but you’re still a winner to me:) love the furry chicken butt salute!

  77. NorthCountryGirl says:

Suzanne, you are a winner regardless! You won our hearts and those who came to know you through this contest. You are one classy, talented, and endearing lady. I’m so glad I found your site. AND, here’s a big “THANK YOU, SAM-E for having Suzanne in your contest!”

Look at the positive: Many new folks came to know you and your site through this contest. Maybe that was the real prize after all. Thanks, Suzanne, for all you’ve given us…and for a job well done.

  78. Debnfla3 says:

I think it stinks you didn’t get the job! You were the perfect one to write for them. But you have NO need to apologize for anything! I think I can safely say we all enjoyed voting everyday, trying to brain storm a way to get even more people involved in voting for you. I truly enjoyed being a part of this FAMILY of chicken lovers…LOL

I don’t need SAM-e to help me feel better….I have Suzanne and the Chicken in the Road staff for my peace of mind!!!!

When I stumbled onto your blog everyone made me feel right at home and one of the crew. That feeling is still there and I am so grateful to be here where I can relax, learn new things and see fluffy chicken butts!!! LOL

    Deb 😆

  79. vicki says:

Hi Suzanne! You ARE the good news blogger! I knew that no matter what the outcome of that silly contest, that YOU would come out ahead! I know that I promoted you at every opportunity and just the other day a friend commented on what great recipes you have! You certainly gained in readership! I can’t wait to hear what’s around the corner! Enjoy you EVERYDAY!!!
    Hugs,

    Vicki

  80. Jo says:

Suzanne,Just wanted you to know that everyday I come home from working with special need kids and get on the internet to chill out a little. I check emails and various other sites but I save the best for last. I enjoy yours the most and I just wanted you to know that. Happy Holidays!
    Jo

  81. Gena says:

You’re being incredibly gracious about the contest. I have to say I saw the results coming a long way down the road. They weren’t looking for someone as genuine as you. They were, plain and simple, looking for the most generic pop-culture applicant possible. Britney Spears probably would have been their ideal candidate. Well, maybe not on a head shaving no panties day, but then again they may have loved that too. Plus, it’s just plain wrong that they rewarded what was obviously some cheating going on with the votes there close to the end!

  82. Nancy in Iowa says:

Hmpf! Everyone else has already said what I was thinking, so I can just say “ditto” to all the other posts. You are amazing, and it looks like you have gained many new readers and followers thanks to this upside down contest. You, your family, and your staff should relax, enjoy the food you’ve put aside, stay warm by the woodstove you now know how to light, make ornaments from your tinfoil and enjoy the snow!!

My best to you always! :snowman:

  83. Mary In Michigan says:

I’m soooooooo sorry you didn’t win, I voted every day and I agree it’s Sam-e’s loss. Your site has everything a reader could want and I know I start my mornings with your blog and a cup of fresh coffee. I love love love your writing and all the pictures you include in each entry. You are so down to earth and show it in your words you write on a daily basis. I hope your doing good through the storm that hit your way.
Blessings to you and your family

  84. cranberry says:

Boo Hoo! Wish you had won, Suzanne!!! But i do adore those fluffy chicken butts, they make me smile every time…

  85. Sheryl - Runningtrails says:

I am sorry you didn’t get it, Suzanne! You must be dissappointed.
    You have a great blog!

I am looking forward to the new surprise!

  86. Pat says:

I’m sorry you didn’t get the job! I voted every day and I really was hoping you get the job. You would have deserved it!

  87. Carol says:

You are very gracious Suzanne. Thank you for the fluffy chicken butts.

    Carol

  88. blossom says:

sorry you didn’t officially win, but like everyone else think you are a winner, and can’t wait to see the surprise. Merry christmas

  89. mary kellogg says:

Yes, we are loyal, and your fans adore your website.

For me, it is a bit of what I had a few years ago, sort of reliving life with chickens, a mean rooster, etc.

    jmho

  90. S. says:

Fluffy chicken butt!!!! I love this site.

  91. Ulrike says:

HUGE news? You’re getting a Clydesdale!?

  92. Cathy says:

You are a winner for so many reason, not the least of which is that your love and sunshine permeate this blog and spread to the hearts of all your loyal readers. Thanks so much for sharing.

    Merry Christmas sweetie!

  93. Karen says:

We all know you deserved this job and I was mad when I first read your blog this morning. It finally dawned on me why you didn’t get it. You and your blog make people see the good in everything, so that we’ll appreciate even the smallest of goings-ons, from poky and clover, to kitten love, building a good fire, fluffy chicken butts, etc. We don’t need a happy pill from Sam-E to make us see these things – you help remind us of that. I haven’t read all the comments but I did read some and agree with the comments about the California vs. West Virginia idea, what appeared to be fraudulent voting, etc. You are more than worthy of that job and should have gotten it.

  94. Andrea Maddiex says:

Brigitte Dale! :hissyfit: Alright , fine, I will live with it, but I am not happy. 😥 You deserved it ALOT more.

  95. Cookin Cate says:

I’m sorry you didn’t get the spot, but that just means there is something better in store for you. I have great faith in the words, “When one door closes, another opens.” Something great is just over the horizon waiting for you to arrive. Can’t wait to see what it is, because it should be pretty marvelous.

  96. julie says:

Fluffy chicken butt! Fluffy chicken butt! That’s exactly why I visit the site!!!

  97. Debbie in Memphis says:

I’m sorry you didn’t get the job, but I have to agree with everyone else – YOU are our good mood blogger! Every day, even on the days where to stories aren’t fun, you give us reasons to appreciate all our blessings and to find joy in our lives. Thank you for giving us the chance to support you. We LOVE you, your family, your farm babies and your willingness to share it all with us. Thank you!!

  98. ScreamingSardine says:

I discovered your blog on the last day of voting. I followed the link, voted for you, and looked around at sam-e. I never got a good feel going to their site, even though I went back to try to find something that would make me feel welcome. They give off no warm, fuzzy feelings. You, however, do.

If you would have won, it would NOT have been a compliment. They only like glitter glue cardboard, not someone or something of substance. They don’t understand depth; they don’t understand real people. In a word, they have a corporate feel to them, and corporations, by and large, are what’s wrong with this world. We have lost our way with corporations, but you’re bringing us back to what’s important, one reader at a time.

  99. Ruth - north CA says:

I already posted on FB CITR my feelings about the short-sightedness of Nature Made’s choice … their new Disney Princess will focus on a younger group that falls significantly short of the average age that would find Sam-e most useful. Pffft, their loss, our gain … I delight in what you do here with such easy skill, Suzanne, and don’t see your down-to-earth-iness fitting well in the corporate America mindset (although they sure could use the daily dose!).

Just a small note on the Sam-e product; thanks to osteoarthritis and focus issues Sam-e really works for me, although it took a week plus for the effects to take initially hold (I notice within days if I run out!). Truly, thanks to the Sam-e site I found CITR! What an upside! The product does work and it would be unfortunate if the fallout from that ridiculously intense contest would be a shut-off of a supplement that is useful just because the company is myopic on their target audience. And no, I’m not really attempting a commercial (look, I’ll drop the mike now) … was just startled by some CITR devotees declaring they would never take Sam-e because of the contest result. Gotta watch that word “never”!

  100. Tobey says:

I do regret that you will miss out on the guaranteed salary for 6 months. Their selection was their choice and I don’t need ONE MORE PERSON telling me to take walks and have a positive attitude. So I don’t have any need to read what their blogger says. That is my choice.

This is a wonderful, cheerful blog and I relish my time here each day. The times have not been easy for many of us and it is comforting to know there is a place to go that will provided a picture of kittens cuddling, a fuzzy chicken butt, groaning shelves of proudly canned veggies and treats, and your joy in life. All of life. The rewards and the toil, the enjoyment in a job well-done, and the respect you show your children, friends, and family.

I agree – voting for you to win the contest was something we could do to give back to you in a small way for brightening our days.

  101. Destiny D says:

I voted every day. And, while I know that it may feel like a disappointment now, (We all want to be prom queen and not first runner up!) I believe that there is something bigger and better in store for you; something that will not require you to compromise yourself, your farm our your intentions for living a simple and intentional life in any way. 2010 will bring it!

  102. Wendy says:

Suzanne, as some others said, I wouldn’t have found you if you hadn’t been in that contest! I came here from someone who “begged” me to vote for you and I “fell in love” immediately!!! I just told my 20 yo daughter a couple of days ago that I would L-O-V-E to come stay with you on your farm for a week… (or more!). I like how you write, and I assume you basically talk like that, and I think we would be tight friends IRL.
    So don’t worry about it!
Your *Graceful* acceptance of losing the contest says *volumes* about you.
We love you no matter what contest you enter or don’t, win or lose, or if you just skip outside to take “a few” pictures to post.
    *We* love you, no matter!
    =-)

  103. Kelley says:

    Hey Suzanne,
I have two or three blogs that I follow somewhat on a regular basis. I think about and try to check Chickens in the Road each day. I look forward to seeing what’s new with Annabelle, Clover, Sprite, Fanta, Mr. Pibb, Poky, Jack, Little, Kitten, Coco and the others. Over the past year I’ve laughed lots, cried some (Pepsi, Little Hen and Honey) and have learned much (Grandmother Bread, Canning). I especially enjoyed watching our Bottle Baby, the lamb who thinks she is a dog, grow this past year. I am inspired and you do make my day brighter.

Wishing you much peace and prosperity this holiday season and throughout the New Year,
    Kelley
    aka: redmountainmomma

  104. ticka1 says:

    Suzanne you got snow?? LOL

  105. Helen says:

I have absolutely no doubt that the exposure you gained from this will be WELL worth the effort!!! Your blog has become one of my few must-reads, and we’ll continue sharing the link on our own blog. As an optimist, I feel confident that great things are headed your way… likely things that will suit you much better than the gig at SAM-e.

It’s no surprise you have gotten such positive feedback from the contest folks; you make any- and everyone feel right at home no matter where they start reading. Even more – you make us all want to MOVE IN with you!!!

I promise to refrain from that 🙂

If it hadn’t been for the contest, I may not have found your blog until later. As is was, Joanna (BooneDocksWilcox) shared the contest news on HER blog (we had her geese for a couple of years and live in an adjoining county). Since she spoke so highly of you, I looked… and was hooked.

Congratulations, even though you may not have come in first. THIS event, anyway 🙂

    ‘Lucy’

  106. Dianne says:

Congratulations! I think even though I voteed twice a day every day for you the outcome is exactly as it should be. In the short term I am sure the disappointment about the pay is there but you will fly even higher on your own than writing for a company that wants you to take supplements to feel better! You are a bright bright star. Shine on your own. You are that bright that you can.
    Dianne

  107. Mary says:

Sorry you didn’t win but I will be a lifelong CITR reader. Just seeing your daily farm photo or catching a glimpse of your fur children puts me in a good mood. I still want a goat.

  108. AndiK says:

Suzanne, it’s quite easy to fall in love with you and your blog! A few years ago, I saw an ad for your site on another one, clicked through, and I’ve been here ever since! You have a lot of loyal readers who are happy to do anything for you…even voting 10 times a day, while standing on one leg, and clucking like a chicken. 🙂

  109. Cyndy Buiniskis says:

Dear Suzanne – My comments is pretty much a big DITTO to all the previous posts.

I’m sorry you will not see the added boost of a 6-month guaranteed income. But as so many have stated, something better will come of it. Certainly for us it is the NATURAL good mood you give to us.

Suzanne, may the blessings you give to all of us through your blog come back to you tenfold. Your Ordinary Splendor puts a little magic back into this sad old world of ours…..every single day. Oh how we thank you for that!

May you and yours have a very special Christmas. Can’t wait to see what 2010 brings to CITR!

  110. Debbie in PA says:

I am sorry Suzanne. I know the income would have meant a lot to you. As far as I am concerned, however, you are the winner….the best!

  111. Angela says:

    Hey Suzanne!

I wanted to make my comment before I found out who actually won. I’m sure that you know that you are the true winner in our hearts and minds. I’m sorry you didn’t win!

We have around 12 inches of snow here in Hurricane, West Virginia. :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: I’m going to try to post some pictures here in a moment. I had to read your blog before I did that. Plus it is still snowing! We are without electric but our generator kicked on at 4:20 a.m. We are toasty warm and watching Harry Potter’s newest movie on our tv. :shimmy: :shimmy: :shimmy:

Hope all is well at your house!
    Angela

  112. Lindy says:

    To heck with them………..
    Their loss our gain…..

  113. Kristen says:

    You’re just awesome. What a wonderful attitude – I’m a reader for life. 🙂

  114. Lynette says:

Thanks for the fully chicken butt :chicken: – it always makes me laugh!

Sorry you didn’t win the contest. God must have bigger things in store for you! Your blog is awesome, and I will continue to visit you every day.

    Have a Merry Christmas!

  115. Lynette says:

What I meant was FLUFFY chicken butt :chicken: (still laughing)

  116. Ms E says:

Sorry to hear of the loss – but I trust there are BETTER things in your future!!

  117. Joy Bayus says:

Oh I voted, hoped and prayed you would win because you are perfect for the job. But now we have you all to ourselves – Yeah! Honestly, this is my FAVORITE blog. I think about the farm, your animals. I mention your name in conversation with my husband about what I’ve learned from you – i.e., cooking, iron skillets, recipes, crafts, goats, farming, chickens, etc. etc. I was thinking this morning, boy I’d like to go stay with you on the farm for a week in exchange for working on the farm! Wouldn’t that be a thrill to live a life I’ve always thought I’d like. I’ve always been a city girl with a big heart for nature and animals. Anyway, thank you for really caring and sharing your talent and life! Blessings.

  118. catslady says:

Well I’m a poor loser :hissyfit: – I still say she cheated – bah humbug. They won’t be seeing me there lol. But if you ever want to enter anything again, I would do it in a second!!! Can’t wait to hear your surprise

  119. Barbee' says:

Well phooey! 😕 I have read every comment before this one and I ditto them all! Moving on… :happyfeet: Can we have a guessing contest about the BIG surprise?! I bet I can guess what it is … I will leave no clues. He,he,he Well, actually, I have two ideas. :fairy:

  120. Estella says:

Sorry you didn’t get the job.
I love this blog. I don’t comment every day, but I do visit and read the other comments.

  121. Arlene says:

so sorry you did not get the job but I love this blog. I love the positive comments you make and all the great stuff you do!!

  122. Darlene says:

Perfect ending, Suzanne! My Clover calendar arrived today, I LOVE IT!! My question is…….how do you say no to clover??? Glad she’s not mine, she’d end up in the house, lol.

  123. Hannah says:

It’s a shame you didn’t get the job, but I understand what you mean. Can’t wait to see the new HUGE thing! 🙂

  124. M says:

Haaaappy Snow Day! Hope your got your critters fed, bedded down and have a moment to put up your feet and rub a kitty ear or two or twelve  Now that the contest is over you can move on. Kinda like waiting for the results for the SAT / GRE type thing. “OK, that’s over with, now what do I need to do today”.

By the way, I check in here almost every day and enjoy the pictures and the words to go along with them. I have never been one to be enamoured with the slick/commercial sites, so I know where I will be spending my time. Time is precious, and if I wanted to waste mine, it won’t be at a highly commercial online site.

Got a good laugh about the ‘Clydesdale’ comment earlier … but they don’t come in miniatures 😆 … which seems to be a focus for a good bit of your livestock additions (‘ceptin Cocoa’ ).

  125. EightPondFarm says:

I am sorry you lost out on the job, but you are a sure winner thanks to the silly contest. I bet you got hundreds of new readers.

I am with auntbear, you cannot run in the “best kept secret” Bloggies category any longer. Voted for you there last year and will find your new category and vote again this year!!

  126. 5kathleen2 says:

Hey Suzanne, sorry you didn’t get the job…but like everyone else I feel something much better is on the horizon. You have my Bloggie vote. Ooooo….can’t wait for the huge surprize. :woof:
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!! :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman: :snowman:

  127. SandyH says:

It was not a burden to vote. I thought your blog for Sam-E would be so much more interesting. Looking forward to the new announcement. We have 14 inches of snow in southwestern Virginia. What about your farm?

  128. Julie Andrea says:

Aww well, it wasn’t meant to be, it means that something BIGGER and BETTER is in store for you!

    Hugs, if you want one,
    Julie Andrea

  129. Patty says:

I’m sorry you didn’t get the SAM e job. We sure tried! I hope it did help get some exposure for the blog though. I’ll sure be voting for you on the Bloggies! Can’t wait for the HUGE announcement! How exciting!

  130. Granny J says:

Well I never!!! Can ya’all believe Suzanne’s “staff” being in on the surprise and them too refusing to “squawk”? Making us wait, walking away, fluffy butts and all. What about Clover? Think he’ll tell? With Cookies? LOL. Suzanne you’re a gem and class act. The contest is how I also found you. I can sincerely thank SAMe for that.

  131. Terry says:

Thank you Suzanne, for letting me peek in on the goings on at Stringtown Rising Farm. Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR, to you and yours. God Bless
    Terry

  132. Jan in South Australia says:

So very disappointed you didn’t get the job Suzanne. As to voting for you everyday it was no trouble and I would do it again anytime.
Have a wonderful Christmas, can’t wait to find out what the big suprise is.

  133. Brenda S 'Okie in Colorado' says:

Suzanne, Sam-E made a really big mistake! You should have won. I go to a lot of favorite blogs daily. Very few of them have a daily post like you. You are so dedicated and deserve so much more. I’m very sad you didn’t win. But, like I always say, when one door closes, a better door opens. I really feel this is what is supposed to happen to you. Bigger and better!
And thanks for the fluffy chicken butt.

  134. Kathy says:

Not to worry Suzanne – I read you every day and will continue to do so.
The whole Sam-e thing is kind of a turnoff – I voted for you every day from work and from home, but it wasn’t very fulfilling. Your blog is like your farm: real, nurturing, and continually growing. Keep up the good work

  135. SuzieQ says:

The ONLY “mood elevator” I require is Chickens in the Road….  ..’nuff said!!

  136. Kathi N says:

We love you. Thank you very much for all you do with this blog. It is very appreciated.

Thanks for the fluffy chicken butt!

  137. IowaCowgirl says:

I am with #134 “The whole Sam-e thing is kind of a turnoff – I voted for you every day from work and from home, but it wasn’t very fulfilling.”

On to Christmas…..”heap on more wood, the wind is chill…..” probably especially on the East Coast.

  138. Kim says:

huge huh? You’re gettting an elephant for the farm???
hope you have power by now again

  139. Lucy says:

You were the only contestant whose blog seemed “real”. I didn’t even bookmark the others.

Through it all you have a great outlook and it seems you exemplify the saying happiness & joyfulness aren’t determined by circumstances but rather by choosing to be so.

I look forward to your blog every day. Thanks for all you do.

  140. kerri says:

They didn’t choose the “real” winner, but that’s OK. It was a silly way to choose an applicant for the job, and in my opinion, you’re better off not working for a company who makes decisions based on quantity of votes rather than quality of character.
With your motivation and positive attitude, Suzanne, you’ll do well whatever you try.
You are a true winner living in ordinary splendor. Thanks for sharing your joy of life with us.
    Onward and upward I say!
Looking forward to the HUGE surprise 🙂

  141. Barbara says:

Suzanne, Ditto for me. (What they said!) I voted for you so often, but was likewise shocked at the sudden jump on the other side. But whatever, I think your attitude about it is graceful and classy and I never minded going in to vote for you. It was little to pay back the pleasure I get from reading your blog. Their loss. And I sincerely hope that all the buzz you generated will pay off for you for this blog. Loved the fluffy chicken butts. :p)

  142. YayaOrchid says:

Your attitude and response to the outcome is very classy. Because you are a classy lady Suzanne! We your readers know you should have been declared the winner, but now that is neither here nor there. We just KNOW. So, yes, I will continue to be a fan of Chickens in the Road, and I look forward to more of your wit and wisdom. And Suzanne, THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ALONG FOR THE RIDE! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, WE ENJOYED IT! I suppose it was the part of sharing with us something that meant a lot to you, and we appreciate it!

  143. Kim W says:

So sorry you didn’t win. Their loss, entirely. But I AM glad that you know how much your readers love you & live or farming dreams vicariously through you. lol

    Blessings from Ohio…

  144. Celia says:

Ditto on all the above! I could not believe it, especially when the caller admitted you were the best. And to the lady who takes Sam-e…have you tried the drink ‘Elations’? It works better for me than any pills I’ve ever tried and I’ve found I only have to drink it every other day. There are alternatives if you look for them and even if there weren’t, don’t know that I could ever give Sam-e a dime. And not everyone lives in California or likes fast talking nothingness… I think it was ‘that’ personal to most all of us, by the posts I’ve read. I’m also in East Tennessee like another poster and got bunches of snow! Can’t wait to hear of the surprise! :happyfeet:

I was disappointed that you didn’t win, but your thoughts about it helped me get over it!

Thank you for this blog. I appreciate what you put into it. I love coming here. :sun:

Suzanne, I am disappointed for your sake, mainly because I know what that extra income would have meant to a single mom with kiddos at home. As for me, it only means not feeling at all guilty about not reading the SAM-e blog.

I, too, agree with Christopher, comment 24. They took a look at what’s-er face’s age, did numbers crunching and went for corporate demographics, totally ignoring reader loyalty (which would have translated to brand loyalty) and, dare I say, TALENT. People, I’m afraid, will quickly tire of a blog that will probably read like a 22-year-old’s text message.

Too bad for SAM-e, great news for us. Better things are in store for you.

Suzanne, that’s the way of the world: the best don’t always win, do they? But you’re a winner, lady, for so many people. For us, your readers, and for your family and friends. Thanks for making my holidays special.Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I loved doing my part to help you win and am disappointed as well that it didn’t come to pass but I am so happy to have Chickens in the Road to come to every day. You really are a winner …

Sorry you didn’t win, it is their loss.

You SO deserved to win….but are being the gracious, wonderful woman you are about the whole thing.
Those of us that voted for you again and again realize it was because WE wanted to, not because you asked us to.
You have one of the most fantastic blogs EVER and I don’t know how you find enough hours in the day to do what you do. Perhaps it is fate that you did not win the contest. Because I have a feeling that you are going on to even BIGGER things….and the contest winning would have distracted you from this coming, new path….

    You ROCK! Nuff said :happyflower:
