Dogwood

Dogwood branches on the ground at the side of the road. The blossoms are beautiful! I love this time of year. I can’t get enough of the flowers. Especially this year, after such a hard winter.

I just love dogwood, when I was very young we lived in Roanoke Virginia and in our side yard someone had planted a dogwood that had been grafted so each spring one half bloomed out white and the other pink. It was spectacular.

The hard winter made the flowers beautiful and plentiful! Or so say my farm friends. Lovely photo.

They are always precious to me. I dare not start listing my favorite flowers, though. :purpleflower:

On the day that Jesus died, the Dogwoods began to morn. When God saw their anguish, he promised them they would never again bear such a burden. They would never again grow to the height required for such an occasion. They will grow twisted and slender. The flowers would be shaped in the form of a cross. Upon the tips of the blossoms would be the tinge of rust representing Jesus’ blood.

I love dogwood blossoms. I, too, have seen a grafted tree that had both white and pink blossoms. It was so beautiful it made my heart hurt.
