Fog in the Hills

I love the way a layer of fog comes down and rests across the hollow between hills of a morning…….

It looks lovely. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 7 years long ago – I loved watching the fog roll in and tumble down the hills!!

oh i know.. it’s it gorgeous?! That’s one of the things I love most about gettin’ up early in the mountains 🙂

Isn’t country living wonderful? There’s no place I’d rather be than right here in the hills of PA with my family and my “mini” farm of chickens. That’s the good life!

I noticed that as we were driving thru WV last week on our way to NC…it was very pretty! as long as it did not interfere with my driving!! I wondered if it often was a heavier fog and caused school delays… beautiful country tho!

Beautiful! That’s how I need to describe the ravine behind the house…….hollow between the hills, with a creek at the bottom! Much nicer description!

  6. Donna says:

    “The fog comes
    on little cat feet.

    It sits looking
    over harbor and city
    on silent haunches
    and then moves on.”

    ~Carl Sandburg

He would have written “…over hill and vale…” had he ever been to West Virginia.

I love the fog too :clover:

  7. Carol says:

One year we vacationed in the Shenandoah mountains and enjoyed seeing the fog in the valley below. Beautiful country!

  8. Shirley Corwin says:

We had lots of fog this morning but it has vanished now. It always looks so mysterious.

  9. Cate says:

I love when that happens. Everything is greening up in your part of the country. Looks wonderful.

WHEN WE TRAVELED FROM ROANE CO. TO ELKVIEW TO VISIT MY DAD’S SIDE OF THE FAMILY WE ALWAYS ASK MY DAD ABOUT THE “SMOKE”. HE TOLD US IT WAS PEOPLE MAKING “MOONSHINE”. “MAN I THOUGHT WE HAD A LOT OF “MOONSHINERS”. IT WAS A SLOW TRIP IN A MODEL A FORD. I AM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU WHEN ALL OF THIS TRANSPIRED. OH ME – OH MY

How timely. Just yesterday I was remembering the ground fog that rose in late afternoon across the highway down in the fields of river bottom when I was growing up on the farm.

  12. Betty Ireland says:

“Of a morning” is an old mountain saying. Did you learn that here, Suzanne, or did you always use that term?
