Fog in the Hills

It often looks like this of a morning from our front porch, the view of the hills across the river obscured by a thick, almost primordial mist.

And then….

…it clears, within an hour.

It’s interesting to see you use the phrase “of a morning”. That is an old country saying. Did you pick that up after moving the WV, or did you always use this phrase?

I love the morning fog that rises off the lake this time of year. It’s really steam I guess since the lake is cooling off rapidly, it’s so pretty!

What a beautiful view you have from your porch…love the fog in the morning. Bet it’s a great place to sit and enjoy the view with a coffee and a warm blankie…and of course a few cats and dogs to keep you company :happypuppy:

A truly satisfied life is finding God’s beauty in where you live. Be it hills, fields, valleys, peaks, surf or shore.

You stated in another thread that when building your house the backhoe scraped of most of the topsoil where you had planned your kitchen garden.Did’nt 52 bring in topsoil? Well if your woods are like mine there should be plenty of leaf mould and leaves now that fall is here.before everything gets frozen would be a good time to dig in a few loads with a bit of chopped straw.your veggies will love that.Just turn it in rough and let the frost break up the clay.
