From the front porch!

It’s a good spot for watching deer, and dreaming about deer season.

Great view!! And I hope this is a “deer year” for you! I only hunt them with a camera but will cook deer meat anytime I can get my hands on it. It is the best and there was at least one winter I survived on it (deer tenderloins and deer sausage) when money was low and friends shared the bounty. Good hunting luck to you!

Never tasted venison or lamb and probably never will, I know a lot of people really like it, but to each his own. We have always had a lot of deer visit our property over the years but this year not a single. They are so graceful and beautiful.
    RUN BAMBI RUN!! ;)

I hope so, Suzanne! Also hope they don’t suddenly disappear when season opens!

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
