Gwennie, in the remains of Christmas under the tree.
Usually, if I’m taking time off, it’s because I’m WORKING on something else. Right now, I’ve got my kids here, and I’m going to take the rest of the week off to enjoy my family–as I hope you’re enjoying yours! I will be back and raring to go first of next week. Happy holidays! Thank you all for being here!

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

Glad you have your family there. Happy New Year to all! P.S. Dumplin looked great in the hat. Glad you decided to use her. Too precious. Also, Morgan has good taste in her reading. If she needs any recommendations this librarian will be happy to send her a list.

You didn’t know it, but you helped me cook for my family: 16 people total. Part of the buffet was set up with soft butter, assorted breads, and assorted canned jams, butters, sauces, etc. most from Suzanne McMinn’s kitchen, dipped straight from jars with labels showing what was in each jar. I used the coconut-raisin-pear sauce in a pie like you made. It will be cut tomorrow. We had too much food tonight and some of the desserts were never touched. You were remembered around our table.
