I’m thinking……. Swans! Or dolphins! (Forget about chickens and cows!) I’ll set up a tiki bar and serve drinks in my bikini–who needs workshops?! I have a beach!

Looks like you’ve had some rain! Good luck with your mini-lake. The rain stopped in Texas and now we just have the awful heat.

Or invent a way to get all that excess water to some dry states and become rich, then buy a beach where it is a little warmer…just thinking…

It’s too wet there and it’s too dry here (southern Cal.) We need a balance!

I envy the greenery along with the water! My entire garden has dried up here in SC and I am going to have to try to find produce to buy to can for this winter. I saw a local news story where a farmer’s cows and chickens have quit eating and producing due to the dry hot weather.

Even i Oregon we have had a dry year and that is dangerous. I’m really sorry there isn’t a balance for all of us.

For years we fought the wet ground around three drains that led from the road to our property. We couldn’t mow the wet area, it drew mosquitos and it was just an eyesore. My hubby took the bucket on our tractor and dug three ditches, one leading off each of the road drains. He added about six inches of gravel down in the bottom of each drain, connected 6″ inch perforated drainage pipe to the road drains and then added more gravel and then topped it all off with dirt. From the road across about 120 feet to our pond is now covered in grass after two years and there is no water laying any where. Your drains could even lead to an underground cistern where you could divert the water and save it for the livestock. Now there is a project for you! Grouchmama

When the sun comes out you could put your bathing suit on and go for a swim!!! It’s been hot the past two days.
