I’m Back

I almost forgot to post my annual Santa hat photo with the kids. I’ve taken photos of the kids in these Santa hats since the hats were way too big on them. They used to cooperate better, I must say.

Can’t ever get them all to smile at the same time these days!

In any case, I’M BACK! (Did you miss me?)

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with all the kids home and sending best wishes for the New Year to all at Sassafras Farm.

Glad you took a few days off, even if I did miss reading your posts. I love these pictures, especially the second one. I can’t remember when I last saw Ross smiling, if ever. Wow !!! it changes him from good looking to really good looking. What is the matter with young people,my own included, that keeps them from smiling? It always adds to their appeal.

I think the second photo would have been different if Weston’s lady had been there, she seems to always bring out the smiles. But he did have a small one.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
