In Other Happenings Yesterday

Tinia Creamer from the Heart of Phoenix Horse Rescue visited the farm here earlier yesterday afternoon (before the other discovery when I went to Stringtown Rising). A visit to a potential adoptive horse home is part of the adoption process, helping to make sure the home is ready for a horse’s needs. It was a great opportunity for me to have her and her husband, who came with her, walk the fields with me and give me some advice about making repairs to the fencing that will be suitable for horses.

I’ll let you know how things progress.

Good deal! I’ve seen that fencing tape used before……..I wonder how expensive it is? Or how easy/hard to put up??

  2. Rose H says:

I’m keeping everything crossed, though I’m sure the outcome will be fine :sun:

I’m a volunteer for a dog rescue :woof: and doing home visits is one of my most favorite things. Fostering tops it all of course, but right now I can’t foster so home visits keep me going. 😮

Ask questions, take their advice, and the right horse will find you when it’s time.

Her and her HUSBAND!!! She looks 12! :bugeyed:

Hope they can prioritize the repairs, its sooooo hard to do everything at once. Not that it seems to stop you. Happy days to you and Morgan :happyflower:

Once approved, will you be able to ask more questions about your desired equine’s background and (any?) behavior quirks. Oh, and remember, not just your land was being checked out. Often the visits (for rescue dogs, anyway) include a bit of matchmaking, just in case the rescue visitor thinks there might be a different rescue that might be a better match.

I hope that things go so well that your writing about your experience will help other rescue horses find a loving forever home. Bees, garden, power tools, puppy, rescue horse; you’re just filling Sassafras Farm with happy new adventures.

As a momma of three boys, one who will be eleven soon, knowing I look
12 has surely just made my day 🙂 :snoopy:

  8. Blyss says:

I thought Tinia was a teenager too! LOL
And look, Suzanne…. your sheep were DOTTING!

  9. TeaCup says:

Hope the horse, dotting sheep, and all are happily cohabitating, soon!

    Blessings –

I hope everything works out for you, Morgan, and Patriot. I got my horse, Kate, from Tinia. She is a great person and I agree, she does look very young. :happyflower: There are so many horses and other animals that need good homes it is nice when you can give one of them the home and love they deserve. – Teresa M
