It Is Raining

It has been pouring all day. Pictured: Morgan entering the fray to feed the “little people” this afternoon after she got off the bus. (She pulled the short stick today.) It gets dark THAT EARLY lately. Creeks are pushing their banks. It’s flood time.

And I am so grateful that I am not at Stringtown Rising.

I dread late fall and winter rains. It chills to the bone…sooo messy muddy! Ten times worse on a farm with animals. I know I’m crazy but I would rather have snow…but we do need the rain.

p.s. The ULTIMATE fun is when the grandkid acts like the kid and you hear YOUR words coming out of THAT kid’s mouth. lol And then the kid says; “Oh. My. Gosh! I sounded just like you!” mwahahahahaha

I’m grateful for you also that you are not at Stringtown. With all of the rain the past few days, we are all in a soggy, muddy mess. My front yard and driveway look like your barnyard, minus the animals! I hope it doesn’t stay this soggy and wet, but it usually does in central WV this time of year. I really would rather see some snow!

I am really glad for a lot of reasons you are not at Stringtown Rising.
Your pasture looks like my fields between the buildings after the rains have been gone for a few days. We had 6 inches two different nights and my chickens got marooned. We keep chasing higher ground for their safety.
Your new Sassafras Farm is so pleasant compared to some others. Many BLESSINGS of the season.

I’m happy for you, too, but mostly because I can tell how much happier you are! I like living in town in my comfortable little subdivision because I’m different than you, but we are still so much alike.
