My Favorite Photo Gets a New Do

Remember this picture of Nutmeg?

It makes me laugh every time I look at it.

The incredibly talented Kelly Walker (see more of her work here) recreated the photo in this beautiful painting and sent it to me:

Thank you, Kelly!!!

Kelly is an awesome artist (not to mention one of the most fun people I’ve ever met). She’s going to be leading art classes at CITR Retreat 2012 this year. We have just a few spaces left at the retreat–if you want to grab one, don’t wait too long! (Get all the retreat info here.)

So glad you like it. It’s one of the funniest “poses” I’ve ever painted.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
