My People!

My people are back! Not that we don’t still have snow. Not that I can drive over our road. But. The salt truck did go down the hard road across the river, and since nothing’s melted because it’s so cold, the river’s down and the road across the river isn’t too terrible right now. (Not too terrible means there’s still snow on it but not enough to bother normal people. I’m not normal people so it still makes me nervous, but I can drive on it.) Anyway! Weston! And Morgan! My people!

I’m sure they are thrilled to be home and walking up and down the driveway. Today, we had a big day out and went to the city so they could spend their Christmas money on clothes and books. They are both big readers. It was a complete madhouse at all the shopping centers. (For those of you who live in the area, we went to the Town Center Mall in Charleston and to the shopping mecca known as Corridor G. You know what I mean when I say MADHOUSE.) We had a lot of fun anyway. (I don’t usually consider shopping fun, but in this case, it was just fun to be with them all day.)

Weston, sweeping the snow off my car, which hadn’t moved from that spot for the past week.

Tomorrow (Sunday) morning, ROSS COMES HOME!!!!!

My posts may be a little more random than usual during this coming week. Thanks for understanding!

    Hey Suzanne!

You are a brave, brave woman going to the Town Center and the G! :pirate: You couldn’t pay me to go to the Town Center! It’s been years since I’ve been there. And the G! Well, not during Christmas season after 3 years ago I went to Target, Home Good and Lowe’s and spent over 2 hours trying to get out of the parking lot/road! :hissyfit: The funny thing is I live about 15 to 20 minutes from there and I prefer to shop in Huntington!

    Merry Christmas! :grinch:

Thank heavens they’re home safe and sound! Just one more to round out the family – I still think you should invite some of the critters (besides dogs and cats) in for Christmas – how about the Crooked Little Hen? Don’t worry about us – you just have a fabulous time. I can always entertain myself by looking at older posts!!!

Hugs to everyone at Stringtown Rising Farm…..

Corridor G the week before Christmas?? Snowy Roane County back roads and river fords are a piece of cake compared to that. You’re a brave, brave, brave woman. Merry Christmas to all at Stringtown Rising and I’m so pleased Ross will be home. Enjoy!!!

  21. lyzcollins says:

A very happy and safe Holiday Season to you and your family! There are so many things that I have learned from following your blog! I don’t live on a farm (so jealous of you!), but that doesn’t mean I can’t do more with less! It is so freeing to not be at the mall trying to figure out what to buy for my friends and family, instead, I’m at home baking loaves of bread and making cookies, candles and other homemade-with-love presents.

  22. Barbee' says:

How wonderful that you will have them all home under one roof at last. You enjoy your holiday. There are enough old posts to feed my fix. Besides, most of us will be busy, too. I’m sure all of us will understand and support your randomness.

  23. Whaledancer says:

Have a wonderful visit (I know you will). Lots of hot chocolate and homemade cookies. You’ve already got plenty of snow!

  24. LisaAJB says:

Of course you have more important things! Your people are home! Yay for getting to see that oldest boy of yours. Have a great Christmas week!

  25. Jill from Spencer says:

brave woman for going to the G and the mall…. I usually head up 14 and go to parkersburg… it seems a little better up there but no Target!

  26. Ramona says:

Sounds like you will have a great day with your kids!
