Pet Portrait Winner

What a party! I’ll have a full party report tomorrow (Monday), but meanwhile, I want to report on the pet portrait drawing that was held during the party. Here is Tinia Creamer from the horse rescue group pulling a name from the drawing basket.

The winner was one of our mail-in donors to the equine rescue benefit. I don’t have an email address to contact the winner, but she will be contacted by mail. Donna Pickett, if you’re reading this, you better be taking some photos of your favorite pet to send to Kelly Walker because she’s painting your pet!!!

Congrads to Darlene! We’d love to see your photo and/or the finished protrait (especially if Mama Cat is admiring herself). Send photos please.

Hooray, Darlene/Donna! How great that even though you couldn’t be there, you will always have a little bit of the party to remember.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
