Pre-Fall

I love the hills in these last days of summer as we creep, slide, fall into fall. It’s been in the 60s here (hear that, retreat attendees? sorry!), and the mist rolls and wallows in the hills with mysterious languor. This is our view from the front porch this afternoon.

Are you taking reservations for the rockers on your porch? May I reserve one? It’s HOT here in eastern NC. Glad that the retreat was a (HOT) success and that you slowing down. All my best. Pat in Eastern NC

What a beautiful view from your porch. Even tho I don’t like cold weather I am really tired of the hot and dry summer. Bring on fall!

I love when the mist swirls around the top of the hills like a scarf on a chilly day.

Gorgeous photos Suzanne! As much as I love the pics of your “Cast of Critters” I also love the beautiful shots of the WVA landscapes in all the seasons.

Thank you for sharing them with us!

It’s been foggy here in Ct too. Your view reminds me of VT….where, two weeks ago the leaves were beginning to change!

I love the view from your porch. That could be a whole category unto itself. Wish there was a live cam, but then I wouldn’t get much done. I read that southern Maine has frost warnings and northern part freeze warnings.

I have been waiting for fall since last December. There is something about the crisp air and the falling leaves that I love. I love back to school-not because I want my kids to be away but just because it’s so exciting. I always loved it. New school clothes, picking out supplies, etc. I love Halloween and pumpkin patches and hayrides. It’s sweater wearing time and I love it!

Nice view, much better than a city view of homes.
