She Was Looking for More Cake!

What’s wrong with this picture?

That’s right. That’s Mother Nutmeg.

OUT of the goat house!

Separated from her baby. Nutmeg has long been known for her magical escapes. And her rotundness. (See Escaped Goat Leads Stringtown Farmer on Slow-Speed Chase.) How she got her vastly wide self out of the goat house on her own, I have no idea. But she wanted back in. Really badly!

“Help me, Woman! My house is on fire and my baby’s alone!” Or something…..

After fighting off some number of people (CLOVER!) who wanted to get into the goat house aka world of cake, too, I managed to get Nutmeg back where she belonged.

Because nowhere is home if your baby’s not there.

P.S. This happened at dusk last night. The incident is under investigation today.

I would imagine that she got really anxious to get back to her kid when her udder got full. Up until that time, she probably was enjoying her vacation.

Reading your stories is a real highlight of my day. I just love getting to know the personalities of all your critters. Each an individual and no one could put their thoughts and actions into words like you do. Thanks for doing what you do!

Is there a hole in the fence? Were you up all night worrying that the babies would wander away, too? In Nutmeg’s defense, I can remember needing a break really bad when I had nursing little ones.

Those goats have a definite sweet tooth! I can identify with that!
