Last night’s onion & chives bread (a Grandmother Bread loaf).

For something so simple, it’s amazingly beautiful.

I can almost smell it! You get to enjoy homemade bread so many ways. First the making, then the smell of it baking and then eating. I like knowing there are no weird ingredients in it.

I even have my son baking bread these days.

Oh that looks so scrumptious! Our oldest is entering a yeast bread for 4-H this year. He has to use a specialty grain, though, so I think I’ll be perusing your recipes! Got any good ones in mind that might wow the judges?

Looks good! I am getting ready to make a whole grain bread today! :happyfeet:

I LOVE bread. I don’t make it often enough. Making my own bread is on my “to do when I retire” list (which I hope to do in the next two years). My work right now it is mandatory 10 hour days and weekends which is not conducive to making a lot of foods “from scratch”.

Just removed two big loaves of whole wheat bread from the oven. It tastes wonderful with butter dripping down the sides!!!
(I Use the Grandmother Bread recipes for white, but not wheat bread)
    Yum yum yum….
