The New Feeding Station

The bird feeders are back up on the new pole in the same location where the tree was that fell down in the storm. And the stump, so far, has a bird bath on top of it, using it not as the pedestal but as the base for the pedestal to keep the bird bath saucer high enough off the ground that the animals can’t get into it. Not sure it’s actually staying there–if it does, we will have to fix it down or else the goats will knock it off onto each other’s heads. Clover will use it to knock the others out so she can have all the cookies.

Meanwhile, the birds are finding the feeders!

See the cardinal peeking around from the back side of the big feeder?

(That big bird feeder was a gift from CindyP! It’s this year’s awesome new addition. Well, that and the new pole…..)

I wish we could find a spot where the doggone squirrels could’t get to it. We have too many trees for them to jump from. I have some wonderful seed for the birds this year, but these squirrels are ruining it for the birds. Grrrrrrr…………

:snuggle: I also have ongoing battle with the squirrels over bird food. They think it is for them…!
I envy anyone who has cardinal’s. I haven’t seen one nor a red breasted Grosbeak all winter here in my yard in Maine. Other neighbors have but for some reason not here.

I’ll bet the birds are happy with that!
When I first looked at the photo I was trying to work out what the two grey feeders were….doh! Now I realise they’re satelite dishes
You really must feel sorry for me!

I like the birdbath on the stump. That’s the idea I liked best of all of the ones given but I wasn’t sure how you could keep the farm animals out of it.

  5. DarleneS says:

We saw two cardinals and a Blue Jay this morning flying around. :snuggle:

GB is going to be soooo thwarted!

The birds are back in business!

  8. Ramona says:

With so many yard cats, I’m not feeding the birds any more. It was like inviting them to be ambushed.

I’m glad to see your birds are happy.
