Lol. Yeah, the only problem with free-range chickens is…they’re free-range. Just think, they’re giving you your own private “Easter egg hung” each and every day. Cause it’s that or pen them. Of course, somebody will get broody and one day, you’ll find babies toddling after mama.

Why did the hen need to go to the store? Is she stocking up too?

  3. Joycee says:

Was she the rotisserie one I bought yesterday at Walmart’s deli??

I know the feeling! We have 9 free range chickens and one day the wind blew the door to the chicken coop shut(we don’t have the little chicken door in yet). I didn’t notice until the afternoon and because they couldn’t get in the coop they laid their eggs somewhere in the yard! I had to ‘coop’ them up for about a week only letting them out after they laid their eggs but once in a while we’ll find an egg laying around. I think the snakes are finding them as we found one egg in the driveway that looked as though it had been rolled…guess the snake couldn’t get to a tree or a rock before being scared off…dang chickens. I found one today in front of the porch…now the plan is to make a large run and only let them out in the evening just before it’s time to roost. Oh well…I’ll sure miss seeing them all over the yard.

Do tell egg-xactly what you did to your hen? :hungry: Seriously?

  6. Double Trouble Ranch says:

Honestly you didn’t eat her did you? Poor little gal was trying to be a good mither.

  7. Double Trouble Ranch says:

I was on edge wondering what her fate was. We could never eat our girls either. We have a gal that is 8 years old and still lays. How many is that is human years? Glad to know the little hen is still alive!
