Tracks

Dog tracks and people tracks. You don’t see any car tracks, do you? I managed to move my car back a little yesterday, so that at least it wasn’t in the middle of the driveway at the top, but that’s as far as it went before it got stuck again. My car said NO. It had been over a week since I’d been out of here, so I called my neighbor. He was running to town to pick up his daughter from work. Handily, she works at a grocery store! So I hitched a ride with him to the store and was able to re-stock a few things and see, you know, THE WORLD.

He couldn’t get his four-wheel drive truck up my driveway, so I didn’t feel so bad about not being able to move my car!

Glad to hear you made it off the farm and see some real, live people. It must be especially hard now that Morgan
is away at school. I don’t think I’m cut out for such a solitary existence . I know retreats and hired help fills in those gaps here and there. I guess you got to enjoy your own company and that of your pooch for those times when you’re snowbound.

No Suzanne, don’t feel bad about getting stuck. I just got my all-wheel drive stuck in my *flat* driveway! (I did manage to get unstuck though.) There’s still a lot of snow around here, and my gravel driveway is a mess of ruts, slush and hard crunchy snow.

Oh good, so glad you were able to get out for a bit. What a nice neighbor you have!

You bought the generator. You fixed the furnace and put in a wood burning insert. You have the heaters now for the pipes. Next purchase…SNOW PLOW lololol! It never ends, right? I have seen blades you can put on an ATV, but I think you also need weights because they are a bit light and won’t push snow well withtout them.

This moring we woke up to -18 with wind chills below -30 below, broke all kinds of record for the coldest temps ever in our area!
It is a “marshmallow” world here, everything covered with snow and yesterday we has a fog that came through and froze to the trees, it liked like Mother nature had frosted everything with whipped cream and then sprinkled powdered sugar on the trees. The round boxwood shrubs looked like giant cupcakes with mounds of frosting on top—guess where my mind is? Always thinking about baking.
We have 8++ inches of snow on the ground and are forcasted to receive more tonight—–24 DAYS TILL SPRING!!!

This has been a rough winter all around. I live in North Alabama and we have had delayed work and school several times in the last week. They are talking about 2-4 inches tomorrow afternoon and believe me this whole city shuts down with a dusting. LOL. This city is just not prepared for snow and ice. Your snow is beautiful but I know it makes it so hard to take care of the animals. Take care. Spring is just around the corner. (I hope).
