In the third pic ….he seems to be thinking…”How deep is this stuff gonna get”…LOL

Don’t cha just love the birds in the winter snow….so beautiful…

  2. Jan Alexander says:

    Oh so beautiful!

  3. carsek says:

Aren’t they just gorgeous? I really like to see them in a snow storm, unfortunately I’ve had that opportunity way to much this year!!

  4. CindyP says:

They stand out and are so beautiful in the snow. :sun:

  5. Diane says:

Beautiful pictures. I like watching our red birds in the snow too. I have lots of pictures also. lol. I have taken lots of bird pictures during our storms this year. So much fun.

  6. kerri says:

Mr. Cardinal doesn’t stay long at our feeders. He eats and runs. Mrs. Cardinal is shy too. I have to be on the ball to catch them with the camera. Or lucky.
You got some great photos. Aren’t they a beautiful bright spot against the snow?
We got a bit more snow overnight so the trees are pretty again this morning and the snowbanks are huge! I see you got some snow too. Old Man Winter is very busy this year.
Hope you have a restful weekend

  7. Julia says:

    Just beautiful. Thank you.

  8. NorthCountryGirl says:

Such beautiful pictures. I can see those on a calendar.

  9. Debnfla3 says:

    Beautiful…I love our redbirds too.

Right now I am having hundreds of Robins in my yard! I welcome them though because they get in my rose beds, scratch around and eat all the nasty bugs…hahahahaha
I wait until the robins come and do their thing before getting out there and putting new mulch down each year. I made the mistake one year of putting mulch down early and the robins scratched it all out…LOL

  10. katherine says:

While I love the colorful cardinals, I’m getting really anxious to spot more robins. We’ve seen a rare few, can’t wait til they’re running all over the lawn, which is now covered once again in snow!

  11. mrnglry says:

Absolutely Gorgeous! You are so lucky to live in a place that has these beautiful birds. Our bluebirds are showing up here for spring, and we see an occasional oriole, but they don’t compare to your cardinal for color, especially on that white background.
What a wonderful way to spend a winter’s day!

  12. CATRAY44 says:

    Wow. Those are really beautiful.

  13. M.J. says:

Just beautiful. Our cardinals, too, have been a bright spot in a what has seemed to be an endless, dreary winter.

  14. rain says:

just plain WOW says it all!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing ! Rain

  15. Technobabe says:

We have a bird like this that likes our tree in the back yard. It is such a bright color, it stands out like a neon sign. We watch this bird as it melds in with the other birds and doesn’t he know he is such a beautiful color??

  16. Shirley Corwin says:

I love the cardinals. They seem so much brighter in the winter. Probably the contrast with the snow. Gorgeous photos.

  17. Cindy says:

thanks for sharing your redbirds. One of my goals is to someday see a redbird – here on the west coast of Canada, there are none. Lots of finches, jays, flickers, but no redbirds. And red is my favorite color…….sigh….someday……………

  18. Leah says:

I love the redbird! I’ll see one on the tree branch outside my living room window once in awhile. It’s true they dont seem to hang aground long.

  19. Cindy says:

Did you see the female nearby? I was taking pictures of a male cardinal a month or so ago, and it wasn’t until I zoomed in on the photos that I realized the female was right there, a little behind the male. She was hard to see because she matched the bushes so well! I’ve heard that they mate for life, and that they always come back to the same nesting spot. I don’t know how true it is, but we always have a nesting pair in our yard, which is very cool!

  20. GrammieEarth says:

I want a Cardinal or two(twenty) here too! :hissyfit: LOL They have been spotted in the Southend on occasion, but not here. I’ve spent months adding their favorite food…to no avail. Oh well…I did get an Indigo Blue for a couple of days :happyfeet: A very rare sighting for this neck of the woods.

  21. Nancy in Iowa says:

Gorgeous photos. My mother would have loved them, and if she were still with us I would have wheeled her to the computer so she could see your beautiful work. She loved birds, but cardinals above all others. Thank you for the bright spot in the snow!!!

  22. Sheila Bergeron says:

They are pretty, aren’t they?

  23. Janie says:

He is so cool…I just love watching birds and this one is so red…love it.https://chickensintheroad.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/sheep-jump.gif

  24. Cynthia Stinson says:

Theres no place like home , theres no place like home. I’m missing the redbirds while stationed here in Korea. I wanne go home to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. I have Magpies, Greater Tits(which look like and sound like chickadees) and Tree sparrows. The birds here look very much like ones in America, but with a twist. But there are no cardinals.sigh….

  25. The Retired One says:

    BE. STILL. MY. HEART.
    Stunning!
Those first two pictures are so gorgeous I can’t even commment…..

  26. jane says:

You could make your own Christmas cards for next year with these pictures. Glad you feed them in winter
