This is absolutely delicous if you like garlic and spicy and creamy. I don’t make it often because I can eat it by the spoon. It gets better and better as the mustard seed softens and the spiciness increases,.
Given to me by a friend who was a chef. Raised in one of the New England states, he says he was told that this was from a restaurant along I-95.
Ummm makes a good dip too – even for your finger…
1 pint sour cream
1 cup mayo
1 T wine vinegar
1 T salad oil
1 T lemon juice
1 T A-1 steak sauce
1 T Accent*
1 T mustard seed
1 T garlic powder (or 1 large clove smashed/chopped finely)
*Accent is in the original recipe. You can omit.
Mix all together. Let chill as long as you can stand it or hide it overnight.
