
This recipe is our absolute favorite. Our son made this in kindergarten (he’s now in Grade 10) so it is a tried and true favorite!

Ingredients
Sauce:
1 cup brown sugar, 2 Tbsp butter, 1 1/2 cups water
Dumplings:
1/2 cup sugar, 2 Tbsp butter, 1/2 cup milk, 1 cup flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt.
Directions
For the sauce:
Caramelize the brown sugar and butter. Add the water and boil a few minutes. Pour into a 2 quart casserole dish.
For the dumplings:
Cream butter and sugar. Add milk. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Drop by spoonfuls into the sauce. Bake 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees. The dumplings should be golden brown on top.
