This is my Mom’s Recipe and is good by itself or ala mode!
Servings: Approx. 2 quart cassarole dishCook Time: Approx. 30 mins.
4 cups of apples peeled and sliced into pieces…no particular size
3/4 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup oleo
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup quick oats oatmeal
I also add some cinnamon and sugar to the apples before putting the crumble on top of it (just enough to coat the apples).
Put the apples in the bottom of a 8 x 8 pan or a casserole dish. Then, mix the “crumble” ingredients until it looks like crumble then put on top of the apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are tender and juice is bubbling.
I think next time I might use more apples though–maybe a couple more cups. Very easy to make and it is good 🙂
