
This is a very tasty cake, good enough for guests, but simple enough for everyday. Of note, it does not require eggs, so it’s good for egg allergies.

1/2 lb butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups applesauce
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp baking soda
optional: 1 cup raisins or nuts
Directions
Cream butter and sugar together. Add applesauce and vanilla. Add dry ingredients that have been mixed together.
Bake 325 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.
