I was looking for suggestions for your favorite baby shower foods. I’m hosting the baby shower for my soon to be 1st grandbaby and I’d like to make it extra special. What are your favorite foods? Any suggestions on making this a special day?

I have posted a recipe on here called “Gelatin Poke Cake” which I have taken to a baby shower. It looked and came out so pretty and got plenty of raves. One layer blue for boy..and made other layer pink for the girl. Then decorated top with baby decorations of my choice.
Put Gelatin poke cake in recipe serach and read it and you’ll understand what I mean.

I make “Cute as a Button Cookies”.
These are so incredibly easy and irresistibly cute!
Make your basic shortbread or sugar cookie dough, roll it out about 1/4″ thick and cut with a 2″ round cookie cutter. Now take a empty spice jar or shot glass that is about 1-1’2″ wide and press down gently and evenly on the cookie, just enough to make an indentation around the cookie. Using a small drinking straw, cut out two or four holes in the center of the cookie dough. It should now look like a button. Transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet and bake as your recipe directs.
I will usually string a few cookies together with ribbon threaded through the button holes and sometimes wrap in tulle.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Love them all. I’ll have to give the cookies a try. I’m just like Clover, very fond of cookies.

We had a Victorian Tea Party for my daughter at an old mansion right before Chrismas. The great thing was that it was decorated so we didn’t have to do a thing! We were served cucumber sandwiches, tea breads, tiny cookies, and a bit of fresh fruit and of course we brought the cake. Very simple and yet very nice!
