Growing up, we never had store bought bar-b-que sauce. An old catchup or syrup container is what Mom stored her homemade sauce in. Good on hamburgers, chops and steaks.
Servings: 48 OZPrep Time: 20 min Cook Time: 30 min
2 C tomato juice
1 onion, chopped fine
1/2 C vinegar
1 C sugar
1/4 C Worcestershire sauce
1/2 t crushed red pepper
1 t celery seed
1 C catchup
Mix all ingredients together. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 min, longer if you want a thicker sauce.
