
I have finally figured out how to make vegetarian soup tasty. This applies to my bean, lentil and split pea soups.

Servings: 10
Prep Time: 1/2 hr Cook Time: 5 hrs slow cooker?Ingredients
Bean, lentil or split pea soup
onions, chopped
garlic, chopped (or garlic powder)
oil, (olive is better)
carrots, chopped
potatoes, chopped
celery, chopped
turnip or rutabaga, small piece, very finely chopped
brown sugar, pinch or to taste
curry powder
salt and pepper
lots of spices (I use spice mixtures I got at the discount store)
Directions
Prepare beans, lentil or split beans and add enough water to your liking.
Fry onions in olive oil, then add chopped garlic; add to soup with water. Add rest of ingredients. Slow cook several hours.
