Breakfast Cherry Danish

Quick, easy breakfast goodie. Adapted from “Quick Cooking Annual Recipes 2001.” I am pulling these out of the oven as I write!

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: 8 danishes; Serves 4

Prep Time: 5-10 min.   Cook Time: 15-18 min.

1 tube refrigerated crescent rounds or bread sticks
2 Tbsp butter melted
1/2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 c cherry pie filling or other fruit filling (canned or your own)
1/2 c confectioner sugar
1 tsp water

Separate crescent rounds into sections but leave coiled. Place in a greased round baking pan or 9×9″ square pan.

With a spoon, make an indentation in the top of each; spoon or brush melted butter onto danish and sprinkle with sugar.

Fill hole with about 1 Tbsp of pie filling (3 cherries).

Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

Combine confectioner sugar and water; drizzle over warm rolls. Makes 8 danishes; Serves 4. Can be doubled.

Update…the cherry danish recipe makes 8 danish, to serve 4 people (or less if you’re really hungry!) Guess I didn’t pay attention when I wrote it.
