This is the recipe shared with me from the church ladies group who used to sell them years ago as a fundraiser. I would think you can make the filling into heart shapes for Valentines day.
1 pound confectioners sugar
1/4 lb butter
2 Tablespoons cream
1 teaspoon flavoring–your choice
Chopped nuts, candies cherries, or coconut or combination of what you like
Chocolate for dipping (milk, white, or dark)
Combine all ingredients except dipping chocolate. Form into egg shapes, chill in fridge on tray lined with wax paper until firm.
Use your choice of dipping chocolate (you can use white or milk chocolate, I prefer dark chocolate) and dip each egg chill until set.
